Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie’s Divorce Continues After Cancer Scare, Cheating Allegations And Child Abuse Claims

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are parting ways after spending 12 years together – 2 of which were spent married – and after six children, and while their divorce was only recently announced, it has quickly become one of Hollywood’s messiest splits.

Following Jolie’s sudden divorce filing last month, Brad Pitt was accused of child abuse after allegedly getting physical with his son, 15-year-old Maddox, on a plane, and around the same time, the 52-year-old actor faced rumors of an on-set affair with his Allied co-star, Marion Cotillard.

It has also been revealed that prior to their split, Jolie discovered early signs of ovarian cancer and underwent surgery in an effort to avoid any further progression of the disease.

On October 8, Us Weekly revealed details regarding Jolie’s decision to have surgery, which she opened up about in a post for The New York Times magazine.

“I went through what I imagine thousands of other women have felt,” Jolie said in the article, which was shared a short time after she had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed. “I told myself to stay calm, to be strong, and that I had no reason to think I wouldn’t live to see my children grow up and to meet my grandchildren.”

Brad Pitt’s wife, Jolie, ended her chances at having more children when she opted for the surgery.

Jolie also underwent a double mastectomy years prior.

Meanwhile, Brad Pitt has been busy with his career in acting and recently faced months of reports about his relationship with Cotillard, which both he and Cotillard chose to stay silent about up until Cotillard spoke out on Instagram after Jolie filed for divorce.

In a post to her fans and followers last month, Cotillard told fans that she needs just one man in her life and that man, Guillaume Canet, is the father of her young son Marcel, 5, and another child she recently confirmed she was expecting.

“This is going to be my first and only reaction to the whirlwind news that broke 24 hours ago and that I was swept up into. I am not used to commenting on things like this nor taking them seriously but as this situation is spiraling and affecting people I love, I have to speak up,” she began.

“Firstly, many years ago, I met the man of my life, father of our son and of the baby we are expecting. He is my love, my best friend, the only one that I need. Secondly to those who have indicated that I am devastated, I am very well thank you. Finally, I do very much wish that Angelina and [Brad Pitt], both whom I deeply respect, will find peace in this very tumultuous moment,” she wrote.

As for the allegations of child abuse against Brad Pitt, fans have surely heard that Pitt and his family, including his wife Jolie and their six kids, Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Vivenne and Knox, 8, were aboard a private jet on September 14 when Pitt allegedly lunged at Maddox and made some sort of physical contact. The allegations came shortly after Jolie filed for divorce, but aren’t expected to lead to any charges being filed against the actor, at least according to a recent report by TMZ.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are divorcing and along with their split will likely come tons of drama over the custody of their children and the dividing of their assets. Stay tuned.
