Ben Higgins, Lauren Bushnell Teases ‘Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After?’ Premiere, ‘The Bachelor’ Couple Goes On Double Date With JoJo Fletcher, Jordan Rodgers

After going on The Bachelor Season 20, Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell will be starring on their very own reality show called Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After? Premiering this Tuesday, October 11 on Freeform, the Bachelor spin-off will follow the newly engaged couple as they prepare to walk down the aisle.

In an interview with Us Weekly, Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell revealed that their relationship had not gone as smoothly as they hoped after TheBachelor. Bushnell shared that she found herself in a “hurtful and confusing situation” when she found out that Higgins told runner-up JoJo Fletcher that he loved her. While the two looked very much in love in front of the cameras, Bushnell shared that she was still hurting after the finale. When asked what made her trust Higgins once again, the flight attendant explained that it all boiled down to having an honest and open communication.

“I don’t think any of us can really put ourselves in Ben’s shoes, and it took me a long time to learn that because I wanted an answer so bad. I’m learning to break down those walls — that I didn’t even realize I put up — through honesty, conversation, communication and then just time,” she shared.

An insider told Us Weekly that Fletcher and her fiance Jordan Rodgers may end up in an episode or two of Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After? after a source caught The Bachelor and The Bachelorette alums grabbing lunch together. While this could seem like a very awkward situation, the onlooker told the publication that the reality stars seemed “genuinely happy” to hang out with each other. Fletcher and Bushnell even reportedly compared their Neil Lane diamonds. They also shared their experience on being the reality show, with Higgins telling Fletcher she found a good match in Rodgers.

“Ben was saying how happy he was for JoJo that she found in Jordan what he has with Lauren,” the insider said.

Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell may seem like the perfect couple on social media but The Bachelor couple recently admitted to going on couple’s therapy ahead of their wedding. Speaking to People, Higgins revealed that the first few months of their relationship has been quite difficult.

“I look back at the day we got engaged, and there is a cloud over it, because I really did hurt Lauren. Instead of being able to jump into a really happy time, the first few months of our relationship consisted of difficulty and strain,” he explained.

While Bushnell is more than ready to move forward with the marriage, she admitted that she was filled with “resentment” and “anger” after the finale. She also felt anxious after the engagement, which caused a strain in their relationship.

“For a long time, I was really angry for being blindsided. I was heartbroken. And that resentment and anger affected our relationship much longer than it should have.”

Higgins and Bushnell felt that undergoing couples counseling at their church will help them rebuild trust and create a healthy foundation. In an interview with People, the couple said that their relationship is far from perfect but they are doing everything they can to make it work. In spite of the challenges coming their way, Bushnell, however, claimed that breaking up with Higgins will never be an option.

“Even facing situations I didn’t know if I could handle, running away was never an option for me. I am so committed to Ben. I love him so much and at the end of the day, I want to spend my life with him.”
