‘Star Wars: The Old Republic’ Releases Game Update 1.4

In keeping with their promise to provide new content on a regular basis for Star Wars: The Old Republic, Bioware has released Game Update 1.4. The latest game update introduces a brand new Operation, major class changes, new PVE gear and many necessary tweaks to the game. Rounding out the update, the Group Finder has been expanded, companion customization options have been increased and even in-game emotes are getting a buff.

SW:TOR has struggled in recent months, with the loss of hundreds of thousands of subscribers. Electronic Arts and Bioware invested 5 years of development and an estimated 200 million dollars into the game, which has seen paid subscriptions fall from a high of 1.7 million to an estimated 700,000. The developers are hoping that by releasing a flood of new content and offering a free to play option, players will return to the game.

“GET READY TO FACE A POWERFUL NEW ALIEN ENEMY AND SAVE THE GALAXY!

Travel to the Gree controlled planet of Asation, where you’ll join others in an intense series of battles leading up to a final face-off against an unyielding enemy. It’s up to your team to close the Ancient Hypergate, opened by the deadly and malicious Dread Masters, and destroy a galactic goliath before it destroys the galaxy!

OPERATION: TERROR FROM BEYOND
The Dread Masters have unleashed unspeakable horrors on the Gree-controlled world of Asation, and if the threats are not contained, they will spread to every corner of the galaxy! This Operation pits you against agents of the Dread Masters in a race to seize control of the long-dormant Gree Hypergate, which now ushers through creatures unlike anything in the known galaxy. Fight your way through five new epic boss battles, including a final encounter with an enemy of unprecedented scale – the Terror From Beyond!

NEW PVE ENDGAME GEAR
Conquer the new Operation to obtain Dread Guard gear, the most powerful equipment yet!

GROUP FINDER EXPANDED FEATURES
Group Finder now allows you to return to your original location when you leave the group, so you can get right back into the action!

EMOTES IMPROVEMENTS
Now you can set your character’s moods (facial expressions) to match your own – check out how “moody” you can be; it is sure to put your character into a /joyful mood!

COMPANION CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS
Now you can customize your Companion’s outfit to match their chest piece and turn off their helmet with “Hide Head Slot”, ensuring they are dressed for success!”
