Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie Divorce Update: Kids Are Reunited With Their Dad After Child Abuse Claims

Brad Pitt has finally reunited with his six kids.

Following Angelina Jolie’s divorce filing on September 19, Brad Pitt had been kept from his kids due to an ongoing child abuse investigation against him. Over two weeks later, a source has confirmed that the actor recently saw his children, Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Vivienne and Knox, eight, during what was likely a supervised visit.

“[Brad Pitt has spent some wonderful time with children recently,” a source close to the situation revealed to People Magazine on October 6.

According to the report, the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services’ investigation against Brad Pitt remains open after the 52-year-old actor reportedly became verbally and physically abusive to his oldest son with Jolie, 15-year-old Maddox, during a fight on the family’s private airplane. The incident reportedly took place in Minnesota, where the family stopped briefly en route to Los Angeles from France, on September 14. One day later, Jolie parted ways with Brad Pitt.

“[Brad Pitt] loves his children more than anything in this world, and they matter more than anything else to him,” a Pitt source told the magazine. “He will do whatever it takes to be with them, now and always.”

As the magazine explained to readers, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have agreed to a temporary plan that was recommended to them by the Los Angeles Department of Child and Family Services. The plan, which expires on October 20, requires a therapist to be present during Pitt’s time with his kids. However, it wasn’t confirmed by the source whether or not a therapist was present during his recent visit.

Also included in Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s temporary agreement is requirements of individual counseling, family therapy and voluntary drug and alcohol testing for Pitt.

“[Brad Pitt] is trying to get his bearings each day,” a source told Hollywood Life a short time after Jolie filed for divorce. “He feels as if he’s been slammed again and again with the divorce and the child abuse claims.”

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were together for 12 years prior to her divorce filing. While filming 2005’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith, the couple fell in love and one year later, after Pitt’s then-wife, Jennifer Aniston, filed for divorce, they welcomed their first biological child, Shiloh, now 10. The couple also welcomed Vivienne and Knox biologically. As for the rest of their brood, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie adopted Maddox from Cambodia, Zahara from Ethiopia, and Pax from Vietnam.

“[Brad Pitt] knew things were bad for a while but he didn’t think it was going to come down like this,” the source continued. “In hindsight, he can see how Angelina was pushing him away for a long time. It’s painful for him to admit but he thinks she fell out of love with him around a year ago.”

“Since then they have been fighting more and more and there has been a growing distance between them,” the insider revealed. “He tried to fix it, and at times thought they were back on track, but he was obviously wrong.”

Just weeks before Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie went their separate ways, the couple celebrated their two-year wedding anniversary at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles, California, where Us Weekly magazine confirmed they enjoyed a nice dinner at the hotel restaurant before retreating to their room for a one-night stay.
