Is Donald Trump Dead Set On Losing The 2016 Presidential Election? His Presidential Debate Defeat And Fall In The Election Polls Show Trump Is Losing Badly

Is Donald Trump dead set on losing the election? Because it certainly seems like it. The verbal fumbles by Trump over the last few months, his abysmal performance in the first presidential debate, and the endless scandals he creates for himself on an almost daily basis – and all without any help from Hillary Clinton – could make you wonder if he’d rather be doing something else with his time.

As reported by CNN, Trump has even suggested publicly in an interview that he might not really care if he loses in his bid for the presidency. After all, he’s incredibly rich – as he never stops assuring us – so he can go off and have a Jimmy Stewart-style wonderful life. Except with more money, scantily clad women, and nightmarish toupees.

“And if at the end of 90 days, I’ve fallen short… it’s OK. I go back to a very good way of life… At the end it’s either going to work or I’m going to, you know, I’m going to have a very, very nice long vacation.”

Trump’s endless speech gaffes, outrageous insinuations, and odd habit of tweeting his undying hatred for both his enemies and his allies alike – a.k.a. Paul Ryan – in the dead of the night haven’t really helped him in the recent polls. Not surprising, but perhaps that’s all part of The Donald’s master plan.

As reported by CNN, Trump’s failure – if it was a failure and not a conscious decision – to prepare to even the slightest degree for the first presidential debate also points to a strange lack of interest and motivation on Donald Trump’s part. Either that, or Trump has a hard time memorizing little things like facts. Yes, that latter point may be a definite possibility.

Even so, many people are saying – to borrow one of Donald Trump’s favorite phrases – that Trump only got into the campaign to begin with to boost his sagging business. According to Trump’s tax records, he’s been suffering a dead loss for 18 years.

Trump also might possibly want to get another shot at a reality show. Maybe Trump was as shocked as anyone else that he actually won the Republican Party presidential nomination by standing on the stage and insulting everyone, including the viewers.

So in that sense, perhaps Trump doesn’t really care that his numbers have taken a dead drop in the election polls. It could be that Trump is playing out a public relations game he dreamed up years ago to boost the Donald Trump brand image.

On the other hand, there is the question of Donald Trump’s undying love for himself. For most people, running dead last in a two-person race isn’t necessarily a massive cause for embarrassment. But Donald Trump’s ego is so fragile he gets into Twitter wars with former beauty queens over adult film videos. And then loses said wars.

The Trump and Clinton election dance has been going on since the summer conventions, but unless things change radically and rapidly for the Trump campaign, it will still be dead in the water come election day. Whether Trump wants this, doesn’t want this, or doesn’t want us to know he wants it is a mystery historians may have to ponder.

But the fact is, Trump is behind in the battleground states election polls, losing the presidential debates embarrassing himself in the news media, and generally running the worst presidential election campaign people have seen in quite some time. If Donald Trump is dead set on losing, he’s definitely going about it in the right way. All Hillary Clinton really has to do is stand there waving as the HMS Trump sinks to the bottom.
