Jill Duggar is doing a good job of staying afloat all the news updates and drama concerning the Duggars. With Jinger and Jeremy moving on from courting each other into something much more serious, and Jessa getting pregnant, Jill has been coming up ways to stay creative in how she gives news on her Instagram and family blog about her tiny unit.
Unfortunately, Jill is a bit removed from the rest of the action as she spends a good part of the year in El Salvador with her husband, Derick, and baby Israel, as they spread the word of God. They returned to the states for the summer, which means that they had steady WiFi connection and more time to focus on how they are portrayed in the media.
Also with Jill and Jessa: Counting On running on TLC, Jill has had more time in the family spotlight.
She and her husband certainly have been using their family blog and Instagram to give their followers news about their lives. Most recently, Derick wrote a blog post about their intentions as they look forward into the future.
“While we are stateside in the US for this brief time, we want to continue to make the most of both our time and resources,” he wrote on his family blog. “Jill and I are taking Bible classes, sharing the story of our mission with people in the US and preparing to return to Central America. Your support is helping make this possible. When our schedule allows, I’m also working a number of jobs in between for additional support of my family.”
The Counting On star immediately posted on Instagram a photo of them engaged in Bible class homework, showing that their supporters’ funds are not going to waste.
She also has been taking more time in her TLC show, reminiscing about her courtship days with her younger sister Jessa.
“Jill and I’s courtship was long-distance, like Jeremy and Jinger’s — for us, we wanted to have time [to spend] together before we got engaged,” Derick said in the latest episode of Counting On, according to Us Weekly. “So we waited a month of consistent time together physically getting to know each other before I asked her to marry me.”
Jessa also added some third-party perspective of their courting period.
“Jill and Derick’s relationship, I think it was like three months courting and three months engaged, and then they were married,” she said. “And so, who knows! It might be even faster than that for Jinger and Jeremy.”
Another way that Jill turns the news outlets on herself is when she gives updates about her baby boy. Israel turned one this year and his continual growth surprises and delights Jill’s fans. Check out a sweet picture of baby Israel on her Instagram.
One thing that is missing from Jill and Derick Dillard’s picture-perfect life is another baby. They expressed that they want a large family like the Duggars (19 kids and counting!) but they have not been so fortunate to conceive again.
Her younger sister, Jessa, on the other hand, got pregnant for the second time.
“We are overjoyed to announce that Spurgeon has a new title in life as “big brother,” Jessa wrote in her family blog. “We are so thankful that God is adding to our family. 2017 is shaping up to be a wonderful year already and we know Spurgeon will do a great job in his new role. Having Spurgeon has been such a wonderful blessing and we cannot wait to see the face of this sweet new baby (or babies!).”
