Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui Goes Into Meltdown After Being Slammed By Fans, ‘I’m Taking A Break From This S***’
Fifth Harmony star Lauren Jauregui appears to have quit Twitter after getting into a seriously heated debate over Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, and Dr. Jill Stein.
Lauren appeared to get into a pretty heated political debate with her more than 2.3 million Twitter followers on October 5 according to Fuse after the Fifth Harmony star began discussing Clinton and Trump’s presidential campaigns and voiced her support for Stein.
After Jauregui made it pretty clear that she was unhappy with the U.S.’s two-party system, Lauren received a barrage of negative attention from Fifth Harmony’s dedicated followers who slammed Jauregui for getting political and seemingly endorsing a third party, causing Lauren to tell fans that she would be “taking a break from this s***” amid the drama.
Jauregui’s political Twitter drama first began after the Fifth Harmony singer told her millions of followers, “Did you know there’s a Woman named Dr. Jill Stein yes DOCTOR who is beautifully educated and actually cares about people instead of money?”
“Did you know she’s running for president?!” Jauregui then added on the 140-character site of Jill, before Lauren then pointed out that she found it “so sad” that Stein has not been given the platform to showcase her campaign in the same way that Trump and Clinton have.
“I feel like we as a people need to do better as far as educating ourselves,” Jauregui then continued on social media of the presidential race, “because when we buy into the sensationalized, bought media, we distract ourselves from truth and evidently make poor decisions.”
Lauren then made it clear that she is supporting Hillary in the upcoming U.S. election to ensure that Trump does not become the next president of the United States, after which Jauregui found herself on the receiving end of some serious backlash from Fifth Harmony’s dedicated followers.
Fifth Harmony fans launched a pretty scathing attack on the singer on Twitter, causing Lauren to tell her millions of followers that she would be taking a break from social media for the foreseeable future.
“Endorsing third parties is irresponsible when the liberal vote can be split and the actual fascist can slip in,” Fifth Harmony fan @vodkarebtools hit back at Lauren, while @laurinahsunsets tweeted in response to Jauregui’s remarks, “Please think about how people who look up to you and don’t inform themselves much about this stuff could take your words and then vote for a third party.”
“Did you know that by voting for her you’re splitting the democratic vote and paving the way for trump to get into office,” @naomichachki added to the Fifth Harmony singer after Lauren drew attention to Stein’s campaign.
After Lauren Jauregui was slammed by social media users for her remarks on Stein, Jauregui then appeared to go into meltdown mode on Twitter, hitting back in response to the hate and negative attention “lol f*** this” before Lauren then told Fifth Harmony fans that she would be staying away from the 140-character site for a while.
Claiming that “all of this crazy s*** happened” after she tweeted out about Stein, Lauren made it pretty clear to Fifth Harmony fans that she would be taking some time away from social media following the political drama that surrounded her Twitter messages and has not returned since.
“I’m taking a break from this s***,” Lauren tweeted just hours after she posted her initial message in support of Stein on October 5. “Y’all can have your fun,” added Jauregui, “and make whatever assumptions about my character you want.”
“I wait for the day this s*** doesn’t affect me as much as it does,” Jauregui, who is currently in Europe on Fifth Harmony’s “7/27 Tour” then continued of the hate she received on social media after discussing the politics with her fans, before the Fifth Harmony star then signed off, “goodnight.”
