John Cusack And Peter Gabriel Recreate ‘Say Anything’ Scene At Concert [Video]

It’s been more than twenty years since John Cusack held up his boombox in the movie Say Anything. The actor has appeared in classics like Grosse Pointe Black, Runaway Jury, Being John Malkovich, and High Fidelity but last night he walked on stage at a Peter Gabriel concert to re-create his most famous scene.

Well, he didn’t exactly re-create it.

In the movie, Cusack stands outside of his girlfriend’s window holding a boombox above his head while blasting out Gabriel’s In Your Eyes. Cusack didn’t strike his famous pose last night but he did march out on stage carrying his boom box.

Gabriel was celebrating the 25th anniversary of his hit album So and since Cusack played a large part in making the album a classic, it was cool to see them reunite last night. It would have been a little cooler if Cusack would have embraced the moment a little more but the actor clearly has some reservations about revisiting his old character.

Here’s an interview from MTV from 2009. Look at Cusack’s face when he sees the boombox.

Cusack is clearly reluctant to do anything boombox related. So Say Anything fans should really appreciate the video below because it will probably never happen again.

Here’s the video of John Cusack walking on stage during the Peter Gabriel concert.

If that didn’t quench your Say Anything thirst, here’s the video from the movie.
