Green Bay Packers Vs. New York Giants: Bold Predictions For NFL Week 5

The Green Bay Packers are coming off of their bye week with a game against the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football. It won’t be an easy game for Aaron Rodgers and company, but it is a game that they are in desperate need of winning. New York is coming off of a disappointing loss on Monday Night Football against the Minnesota Vikings.

At this point in time, Green Bay is struggling to keep up with the Vikings in the NFC North division race. New York, on the other hand, has fallen behind both the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys in the NFC East and are tied with the Washington Redskins at 2-2.

Looking ahead to Sunday night’s game, a lot is on the line for both teams as they look to bolster their playoff hopes.

Needless to say, it should be an entertaining game between the two teams. Both teams have offenses that are capable of putting up huge numbers and defenses that have the potential to quiet the other teams’ offenses. Issues with Odell Beckham Jr. have been obvious this season, and the Packers will do everything they can to frustrate him on the defensive side of the football.

All of that being said, what five bold predictions can be made for the Packers vs. Giants game in NFL Week 5 action?

Aaron Rodgers Will Throw for 300 Yards, Four Touchdowns

It was obvious that Aaron Rodgers took his early season struggles personal in Week 3 against the Detroit Lions. He threw for four touchdowns in the first half, before head coach Mike McCarthy went to extremely conservative play-calling. Rodgers will throw for 300 yards and four touchdowns this week to prove yet again that he is not slowing down at this stage of his career.

Eli Manning Will Break Out and Match Aaron Rodgers

If the Giants are going to have any chance at winning the game, Eli Manning will have to put up big numbers. He will match the numbers predicted for Aaron Rodgers with 300 yards and four touchdowns. New York has the weapons to make life easy on Manning, and things will start coming together this week.

Green Bay’s Defense Comes Up with Six Sacks

Green Bay has to be very happy with the way their pass rush has performed so far this season. Clay Matthews should be back this week, and both Nick Perry and Julius Peppers have been solid as well. They will all come together to record six sacks on Manning this week.

Odell Beckham Jr. Will Once Again Struggle

The biggest concern for the Giants’ offense right now has to be the attitude of Odell Beckham Jr. He recently told the media that he didn’t “have fun” playing football anymore and has been throwing obvious temper tantrums this season. Beckham will once again struggle against the Packers this week, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see even more attitude issues from the talented wide receiver.

The Green Bay Packers Will Pull Away in the Second Half to Win

From the outside looking in, it doesn’t appear that either of these two teams will blow the other out right off the bat. Green Bay is still the better all-around team and will pull away in the second half to win. It is a huge game for the Packers, and they will get the job done when everything is said and done.

Expect to see these two teams put up points, but Rodgers and company will outpace the Giants. New York will have to go back to the drawing board following this week’s loss and figure things out quickly if they want to make the NFC playoff picture.
