Tom Hiddleston Seems Happy Post-Breakup, But Did His Relationship With Taylor Swift Hurt His Chances Of Becoming The Next James Bond?

Tom Hiddleston might have recently split with Taylor Swift, but he appears to be in good spirits following the breakup, especially while attending the 2016 Emmy Awards presentation.

By all accounts, Tom Hiddleston looked as cheerful as ever when he took to the red carpet while attending the Emmy Awards ceremony, the first public event that the I Saw the Light star attended since ending his romance with Taylor Swift. According to People magazine, Tom Hiddleston was clearly in high spirits as he playfully took the stage along with Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra to present an award.

In fact, the High-Rise actor not only twirled his co-presenter as the duo made their way to the stage, but he also sported a flirtatious attitude while conversing with the former Miss World at the Emmys after-party.

Even though he failed to win an Emmy for his critically acclaimed performance in the BBC’s The Night Manager, Tom Hiddleston seemed to remain in very high spirits throughout the awards ceremony. In fact, his playful behavior has raised suspicions among curious fans who have been keenly following the actor’s love life ever since he started dating Taylor Swift in May of 2016.

The couple’s three-month romance hit a low point when Tom Hiddleston had to fly to Australia, where his upcoming movie Thor: Ragnarok is being filmed. Later, the duo is known to have spent a quiet evening at the “Blank Space” singer’s Rhode Island home. The couple’s romance seemed to fizzle out shortly after, as they were no longer spotted together in public, with the news coming out soon after that the romance was over.

An alumnus of world-class academic organizations like Eton, the University of Cambridge, and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, Tom Hiddleston has played a variety of roles in his career that has spanned for more than a decade. Better known as Loki from the Thor movies within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Tom Hiddleston was speculated to be Daniel Craig’s replacement in the next James Bond movie. In fact, Tom Hiddleston had expressed his desire to step into the shoes of the world’s most famous and most glamorized fictional spy. However, the Telegraph reports that the actor’s highly publicized romance with Taylor Swift might have actually jeopardized his chances of becoming the next James Bond.

While dating the world famous singer, Tom Hiddleston was photographed wearing a vest that with “I Love TS” printed on it. Although he was wary of the media attention his romantic life was getting, Tom Hiddleston allowed his love life to be captured in photographs that clearly revealed his public image was far from the on-screen persona of the suave spy.

The actor may not have purposely hogged the spotlight by allowing the media to capture every romantic moment between himself and Swift, but there is a general feeling that the star could have exercised caution considering the fact that relationships tend to mature successfully far away from the glare of the paparazzi.

Additionally, Taylor Swift is known to have had a string of failed romances before she started dating Tom Hiddleston. Previously, the “Blank Space” singer enjoyed relationships with Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner, John Mayer, Harry Styles, Jake Gyllenhaal, Connor Kennedy, and Calvin Harris.

Contrary to media expectations, Tom Hiddleston doesn’t seem to have taken his professional and personal failures seriously, as he is busy focusing on the filming of the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok movie. Apart from filming for the movie, Tom Hiddleston has teamed with Chris Hemsworth and Idris Elba, his Thor co-stars, to promote the upcoming Byron Bay International Film Festival.

Being Australia-born, Chris Hemsworth had earlier shared an online video in which he had declared the upcoming event as the “world’s best film festival.” Disbelieving Chris’s remarks, media critics were quick to question the claims that the Australian actor made regarding the film festival. Later, the Sydney Morning Herald reported that Tom Hiddleston appeased the critics by modestly corroborating that the film festival was simply the “best film festival in Australia.”
