Ryan Lochte Banned From White House Visit As Other ‘DWTS’ Star, Olympians Attend

Ryan Lochte was banned from visiting the White House, but the Olympian doesn’t seem to be letting it get him down. You would think that Ryan would be really upset, but he is just moving on. TMZ shared that while other Olympians were at the White House, Ryan Lochte was making his own money. Pine Bros. throat drops hired Ryan Lochte as a sponsor, and while everyone else was the White House, he was doing some work for them. He will be in both print and video ads.

So why couldn’t Ryan Lochte go to the White House? As TMZ shared, Ryan Lochte was actually banned from going with the rest of the Olympians, which included fellow Dancing With the Stars contestant Laurie Hernandez. The USOC revealed a while back what Ryan’s punishments would be for lying about what went down in Rio and not getting to visit the White House was part of it.

Ryan was also banned from the next swimming National Championships meet. This could really hurt his swimming career and Ryan can’t be happy about this news at all. Michael Phelps got the same ban last year, though and ended up doing just fine. He will not be able to go to swim meets for 10 months. Ryan also had to give back the money that he won from winning a gold medal. Ryan is lucky enough that he was picked up for DWTS because being on this show actually comes with a big paycheck, too. Ryan also doesn’t have access to training centers and had to do 20 hours of community service. Things could have been a lot worse for him.

Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger, and James Feigen were also not allowed to go to the big White House visit. They are the other Olympians that were with Ryan Lochte in Rio when everything went down. ABC News shared the details about the Olympians and their big visit to the White House. About 600 Olympians and Paralympians were welcomed to the White House. The President seemed to be happy they were there and spoke out to the Olympians.

“We’ve become something more than just the sum of our parts. We’ve become Americans, together. And there’s something special about that — all races, all faiths, all traditions, all orientations, all marching together under that same proud flag, not bound by a creed or a color, but by our devotion to an enduring set of ideals — that we’re all created equal, that we can think, and worship and love as we please, and that we can pursue our own version of happiness. That’s a great gift, that’s what makes us strong.”

President Obama said that Ryan Phelps was “the greatest Olympian of all-time.” It doesn’t sound like Ryan Lochte’s name even came up at all. Ryan wasn’t allowed to be there, and they just went on without him. It will be interesting to see if Ryan’s career is over now or if he can find a way to repair his image and make it back to the 2020 Olympics. Right now, Ryan Lochte is focused on dancing, but when that is over he is going to have to find a way to train if he wants to keep pursuing his dream.

Are you shocked to see that Ryan Lochte of Dancing With the Stars didn’t get to go to the White House? Do you think that they should have allowed him to go to this visit? Sound off in the comments section below on your thoughts, and don’t miss watching Ryan on Monday and Tuesdays on new episodes of DWTS on ABC. So far, Ryan Lochte is still on the show and pushing through.
