One Direction Break Up Rumors About Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne’s Solo Material: Rumors And Reasons To Ignore Them

One Direction break up rumors are generally unfounded. The band has many good reasons for taking a break and exploring their own interests for a while. They also have many good reasons for reuniting. When the time is right, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson will get back together. Zayn Malik might even join them, but right now the hiatus is just getting started.

Some One Direction break up rumors are based on the idea that the band should be back together by now if they were going to reunite. That was not the agreement from the beginning. The original announcement was for 1D to come back together in one or two years. Niall Horan said it would be about 18 months. Only nine months have passed since the announcement, but the hiatus officially began in March, so that is six months according to the video below. It’s going to be quite a while longer, but the guys are doing other things, and they will be seen and heard from. It’s not as if they fell off the face of the earth.

One Direction’s Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Harry Styles are all producing solo material and could tour as solo acts. Zayn Malik is producing his second solo album as well. There is a lot to look forward to in the coming months, so relax and enjoy the music. The Styles photo shoot for AnOther Man is all over Twitter as well, so Harry fans have plenty of pics to look at.

Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson agreed to take a year or two off, starting in March of 2016. It was never even hinted that they would get back together before 2017. It could even be 2018 before the guys start making another album.

Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson have never once indicated that the hiatus was forever. Even Zayn Malik said he would be open to joining their reunion when the time is right. Taking a year or two off from recording and touring is very common for most bands. Five years, five tours, and five albums is an insane schedule, and quite hard for the boys — they have earned a long overdue break by most standards.

One Direction’s Niall Horan has repeatedly and consistently told fans the band was just on a break, not breaking up. He said so again just last week. Niall Horan told York Regional a reunion was “inevitable.”

“For the foreseeable, it’s our own projects but I definitely would not rule out and won’t let anyone rule out the return of One Direction because it’s inevitable.”

One Direction’s Lewis Tomlinson also says in the video below the band will be away for about eighteen months. Counting March, that will be early September of 2017.

One Direction’s solo work is nothing unusual at all, but some people seem to take it as a sign the band is breaking up. Solo work is not any reason to assume a band is breaking up at all. Many musicians do solo work as well as work with their bands. It is one of the ways individual band members hone their skills, promote their abilities, and gain experience. It helps the band reach more people and gain a wider audience.

Harry Styles, Niall Horan, and Liam Payne are only following a time-honored tradition in creating solo work. Many other bands’ members take a little time off to produce solo material. It is perfectly normal, and has absolutely no correlation to a band’s breaking up.

Harry Styles, Niall Horan, and Liam Payne love their work, but it is still very hard work, and the guys get tired. Taking breaks, even extended breaks, is a regular part of most bands’ schedule. There is nothing unusual about it. Breaks actually increase the chances the band will stay together because it gives them a chance to rest and recover. It helps to prevent or ease burnout. Imagine grade school without summers, or work weeks without weekends. Bands don’t get either one of those off consistently, so they take longer breaks.

Simon Cowell said One Direction might break up. That scared a lot of fans needlessly. In case fans have not figured this out yet, Simon and 1D aren’t at all on the same page anymore.

One Direction is likely to leave Simon, Syco Records, and Modest Management. That is the only breakup that is likely going on. At least that is one theory that points to 1D staying together but under new management with a new record company.

One Direction had a contract with Simon’s company, and that contract may have expired and been completely fulfilled. Even if the time is up, there could be a non-compete clause forbidding the band from performing together for a certain amount of time after the contract expired and was not renewed. A non-compete clause is one of many common contractual clauses.

One Direction’s contract would not necessarily have had a non-compete clause, but it could. If it does, that could explain a lot. Non-compete clauses are typically one year, eighteen months or two years. Eighteen months is a very common time for these clauses. During that time, the person or persons on the contract cannot compete, in this case, perform together, for another company or their own company.

Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan would have signed a contract, and so did Zayn Malik. While the exact content of the contract is unknown, it might be an educated guess, or theory that the band has to wait out the non-compete clause. Their contract could allow solo work though during that period, just not appearing together as a group, and that might actually explain the idea of taking a one or two year break entirely. Record contracts have a lot of variables that may not have been made public. There is no way to be sure this is what is happening, but it seems like a viable theory.

One by one, One Direction’s Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Liam Payne and finally Niall Horan have signed solo contracts with Capital and Columbia, leaving the smaller label Syco. They have taken on different management. The boys in 1D want artistic freedom. It was a huge factor in Style’s contract with Columbia. They would hardly go back to the previously controlling management style that Malik complained about.

One Direction fans should trust the band. Trust Niall Horan when he says the band will come back together. Trust Harry Styles to have a plan that is best for fans, himself and the rest of the band. Trust Liam Payne to hold the boys together. Trust Lewis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik as well. Every one of them has indicated that there will be an end to the hiatus.

It is fun to speculate on the reasons One Direction is on hiatus, but it isn’t fun to get upset over every rumor. Fans need to have patience and trust because the hiatus will end eventually.

One Direction’s Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Lewis Tomlinson will come together again, perhaps with Zayn Malik as well.
