Duggar Family News: ‘No Intention’ On Quitting TV, Josh Duggar To Return?

Just when you thought it was safe to turn on TLC, the latest Duggar family news suggests the exact opposite. The Duggar family, apparently aware of the increasingly-loud rumors about their impending cancellation, felt compelled to make a statement to reassure their loyal legion of fans (yes, they exist) that they have no intention of quitting TV, despite suggestions to the contrary.

Christian Today was the first to break the Duggar family news about the statement, which was released via a Duggar family friend.

“As we approach the eighth episode of ‘Counting On’, Season two, the tabloids are circulating a rumor that the Duggar siblings are quitting reality TV. Is it true? Not in the slightest. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s children have no plans to leave TLC.”

This statement is nothing if not optimistic about the future of the Duggar family — the Josh Duggar scandal aside, the various siblings are appearing less and less on the show, Counting On. Jill Dillard is off to Central America, Jessa Seewald is preparing for yet another baby, and Jana Duggar is making fewer appearances on the show — none of these actions are indicative of a family that is either interested in staying on the air or promoting the next season of the show.

To make matters worse, the latest Duggar family news put out by Headlines & Global News suggests that Josh Duggar will actually be returning to the TLC airwaves very soon. Even though Michelle Duggar is against Josh being welcomed back into the family fold (according to her, he “violated the family’s core values”), and even though Josh broke the law by molesting his younger siblings, the family — according to the site — feels that “big ratings” will follow when Josh returns.

In light of the other siblings appearing less frequently on the show, the show needs something to film in order to continue. For her part, Anna thinks that the fans will be like her and “forgive” Josh for his transgressions — the couple was seen going to marriage counseling, and they’ve recently celebrated their eighth wedding anniversary. And despite the fact that the revelation of Josh’s cheating (while using the infamous Ashley Madison site, no less) and molestation led to the cancellation of 19 Kids and Counting — and the fact that TLC has promised to yank the entire Duggar family lineup if Josh returns to Counting On — Anna thinks that the sponsors will be lining up around the block, and the ratings will skyrocket when Josh makes his grand return to television.

But is all of this really appropriate, or a good business move?

According to The Hollywood Gossip, not only is all of this a good move on the Duggar’s part, but the latest Duggar family news suggests that there is yet another spinoff from 19 Kids and Counting in the works. This new show, which is as yet untitled, follows Jim Bob’s “rebellious” niece Amy, who — at 30-years-old — made the news because she was pampering herself at a nail salon. How scandalous!

At the very least, Amy and her husband, Dillon King, will be getting a special on TLC, as suggested by his recent Facebook posting.

“Amy and I are sorry we haven’t posted in a while. We have been very busy the last few months. We have a surprise for everyone, we have been working on some stuff and the outcome I think will be amazing.”

Because if there’s one thing viewers can’t do without, it’s watching yet another Duggar get yet another TV special because she’s getting her nails done.
