Mark Consuelos Still ‘Bananas’ Over ‘Live’ Co-Host Wife Kelly Ripa
Mark Consuelos, star of the new Fox drama series Pitch, is still crazy about his wife of 20 years, television host Kelly Ripa of popular morning talk show Live with Kelly. The actor recently gushed about his two-decade relationship with Ripa in an interview with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live. Is there a secret to Mark and Kelly’s successful celebrity marriage? Mark Consuelos and former soap opera actress Kelly Ripa have been enamored with each other since first meeting on the set of All My Children in 1995. After taking on the role of All My Children character Mateo Santos in February of that year, he and Ripa eloped in Las Vegas in May 1996. The power couple now have three children together, daughter Lola Grace Consuelos and sons Michael Joseph Consuelos and Joaquin Antonio Consuelos.
According to a recent article from Fox News, Mark Consuelos is “bananas” over Live co-host Kelly Ripa, even after 20 years of marriage. On Watch What Happens Live, Mark told Andy that he and Ripa “really dig each other” still, adding, “I’m really crazy about her.” According to the linked article, Cohen even confided to Watch What Happens viewers that Pitch star Mark and morning queen Kelly still have a “very active sex life.”
“We keep it going! I’m bananas over my wife.”
Mark Consuelos has been by Kelly Ripa’s side throughout her recent Live with Kelly co-host search. The actor has even filled in as a guest co-host with Ripa on the Live show multiple times since former co-host Michael Strahan’s exit last May. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Ripa is still on the hunt for her perfect Live co-host, entertaining frequent celebrity guest co-hosts like Anderson Cooper, Fred Savage, and Jerry O’Connell.
Mark and Kelly’s oldest son, Michael, recently started his first year of college. As covered by the Inquisitr, the proud parents saluted their college-bound kid on a summer episode of Live with Kelly. Michael, 19, is the eldest sibling of the Consuelos-Ripa clan. As evidenced by a recent piece from ABC News, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos do their best to raise their children in a loving household. Ripa told ABC News that Mark had dinner with his family every night as a youngster and that she and Consuelos endeavor to do the same with their own family.
“My husband had dinner as a family every night growing up and he was like, ‘We are having family dinner every night, no matter what.’ And we do that. It means so much to the kids, it means so much to me. Does it always go as planned? Of course not.”
Mark Consuelos is currently starring as San Diego Padres general manager Oscar Arguella on the aforementioned Fox program, Pitch. Mark stars alongside Final Destination star and Heroes actress Ali Larter in the sports-themed drama series about the first female player in Major League Baseball.
