‘Fear The Walking Dead,’ Season 2 Finale: Who Will Die, Plus All The Details Of What To Expect In The Double Episode [Spoilers]

The Season 2 finale of AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead will be a thrilling double episode this week. So, what is likely to happen and who is likely to die? Let’s have a look at everything we know so far.

There are three official trailers for the Season 2 finale of Fear the Walking Dead, which you can check out below. The first video is a general sneak peek at the finale. This clip shows an overview of what will happen in the Season 2 finale, including Nick’s (Frank Dillane), plan to leave Colonia; the result of Brandon (Kelly Blatz) and Derek (Kenny Wormald) arriving at the Rosarito Beach Hotel, and a little of what Ofelia (Mercedes Mason) has been up to since she left the main group.

The second video is more of a specific sneak peek into what Ofelia Salazar will be up to in the Season 2 finale.

The last official clip for the Season 2 finale of Fear the Walking Dead shows Nick stealing drugs in preparation for leaving Colonia.

It is not a finale episode in the Walking Dead universe without the imminent threat of death. So, who is likely to die in the Season 2 finale?

Considering Nick is planning to flee Colonia, and they have a strict “no leave” policy, it seems it could be Nick’s time to die. However, Nick is resourceful, so it would be just as likely he will escape death once again and survive for Season 3 of Fear.

Travis Manawa (Cliff Curtis), on the other hand, has just returned to the Rosarito Beach Hotel, and thanks to the synopses for the final two episodes, he seems to be struggling with his return after being separated from his son. The finale shows Brandon and Derek return apparently sans Travis’ son, Chris (Lorenzo James Henrie), so is Chris already dead? Some fans think so, assuming Chris died at the hands of Brandon and Derek, while others believe Chris was killed by his own father, and that is why Travis was so guild-ridden in Episode 13.

Mercedes could also wind up dead in the Season 2 finale of Fear. While her life has hung in the balance for a while now with the state of her mental health, she is now out by herself, and if there is one rule in the zombie apocalypse, it is that it is always safer with numbers.

Another character who might die in the Season 2 finale of Fear is Ilene (Brenda Strong). Not a lot has been seen of her since she was placed under house arrest after stabbing Victor Strand (Colman Domingo) in Episode 12. Could she finally rebel against being held prisoner, and as a result, get herself killed?

There are a couple of interesting stills to note in the above gallery. Firstly, there is an image of the group from El Pelicano. This is the place where Nick’s group has been exchanging drugs for supplies. A closer look at the image shows shelves that are almost empty. Could this be the reason this group has decided to finally locate to Colonia?

Another image shows Nick in a bloody T-shirt standing next to Luciana (Danay Garcia). Eagle-eyed fans who watched the first sneak peek video of the Season 2 finale will have noticed the same distinctive striped shirt on Nick. In the video, he wants to leave Colonia and is trying to persuade Luciana to leave with him. She seems hesitant to leave with him. However, the promotional image shows Nick and Luciana standing next to each other. Does this mean Luciana has decided to leave with Nick? Only by tuning into the Season 2 finale of Fear the Walking Dead will reveal the answer.
