Taylor Swift Moves On From Tom Hiddleston: Are Swift And Calvin Harris Dating Again?

Back on September 6, People magazine reported that pop superstar Taylor Swift and her actor boyfriend Tom Hiddleston had broken up after three months of dating. The celebrity news outlet also reported that it was an amicable breakup, but the two hadn’t been photographed together since July 27 and shortly thereafter, Hiddleston traveled to Australia to film Thor: Ragnarok.

People also reported that Tom and Taylor spent time together in mid-August where the couple “enjoyed a quiet weekend at her Rhode Island home. Taylor sent her plane to pick up Tom before the weekend.” That was the last time Hiddleston and Swift were known to be together before the two split.

Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston made their first public appearance as a couple on June 15 on the beach of Taylor’s Rhode Island home. There were, however, cheating allegations thrown Swift’s way after Tom and Taylor were caught dancing together at the Met Gala back in May, despite the fact Swift was still with singer, songwriter, producer, and DJ, Calvin Harris.

A few months later, in July, Harris went off on Swift for revealing that she collaborated on Calvin’s new single “This Is What You Came For” under the name, Nils Sjoberg. Harris wasn’t happy with the development as the two had agreed not to disclose the information. He took it as a low-blow and went on an angry Twitter rant at Taylor’s expense.

In the first tweet, Calvin Harris says, “I wrote the music, produced the song, arranged it and cut the vocals though. And initially she wanted it kept secret, hence the pseudonym.” He continued, “Hurtful to me at this point that her and her team would go so far out of their way to try and make ME look bad at this stage though.”

Harris didn’t stop there. “I figure if you’re happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do.” Calvin added, “I know you’re off tour and need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I’m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it.” Harris’ last tweet summed it up pretty well, “Please focus on the positive aspects of YOUR life because you’ve earned a great one.”

Here we are, three-and-a-half weeks after Tom and Taylor broke up, and Us Weekly Magazine is reporting that Swift and Harris have been texting back-and-forth.

“It was a very brief, simple text exchange,” a source told Us. “They are going to run into each other around town and at events, and they need it to be cool. So if the media sees them in the same place, they won’t start freaking out. They are cool again but absolutely [have] no plans to get back together. It was more of an olive branch between them.”

After what happened two-and-a-half months ago, this is slightly shocking. While every media outlet has made sure to say that there has only been texting between the former couple, and that this in no way means that they’re getting back together, it’s certainly a ways away from the anger we saw in July.

Could this “friendship” lead to the two rekindling their love down the road? Or will Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris strictly remain friends? Only time will tell, but it’s certainly an interesting development between two former lovers who seemingly hated each other a short time ago.
