‘Supernatural’ Season 12: Sam Won’t Be Found Right Away – Mama Winchester Doesn’t Take Orders From Dean [Spoilers]

Supernatural Season 12 premieres in just over one week. What can fans expect from Sam, Dean, and Mary Winchester as well as Castiel, Crowley, and Lucifer? Spoilers and the synopses for the next few episodes have been released. It seems that Sam won’t be located right away. Also, Mama Winchester is not going to take orders from Dean.

Spoilers for Season 12 of Supernatural are ahead. If you don’t want to know details on what to expect, then stop reading.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Mary Winchester (Samantha Smith) has returned from the dead thanks to Amara’s (Emily Swallow) gift. It will definitely be a huge adjustment considering she has been dead since Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) were young. Even though it will be a change to see her babies all grown up and embracing a life she didn’t want for them, Mary hasn’t lost any of her hunting skills. Despite not being in their lives for a few decades, it also doesn’t take away her mothering instinct.

The Futon Critic released the synopses for Supernatural Season 12, Episodes 1 and 2. As fans know, in the premiere episode, Dean will realize that Sam is missing. In the season finale, he was shot and kidnapped by Lady Toni Bevell (Elizabeth Blackmore). Sneak peek photos reveal he is being threatened with a blow torch. The synopsis gives a few additional details.

“Dean is overwhelmed as he comes face to face with his mom, Mary Winchester. Meanwhile, Sam is fighting for his life after Toni, from the Woman of Letters, shot him.”

Many fans believe that Sam will be found by the end of the first episode, titled “Keep Calm And Carry On.” However, the synopsis for Episode 2 states that Sam Winchester is still missing.

The website also reported that in Supernatural Season 12, Episode 2, titled “Mamma Mia,” Dean doesn’t want Mary tagging along. He is concerned about his mother getting hurt. However, Mama Winchester is not going to let her son tell her what to do. Sam is missing and any mother would insist on joining the search.

Being a mother, her instincts are to protect her children. Even though Sam and Dean are grown men now, that maternal feeling never goes away. This is just speculation, but part of why Mary wants to go is probably to keep Dean safe from harm. Remember, she never wanted her children to live the hunting lifestyle. Imagine her surprise that they are not only hunters, but actually embrace it. One spoiler about Mary that was revealed is that she will have a connection with Castiel. He will help Sam and Dean deal with the “emotional bomb” of having their mother return from the dead.

“Dean, Castiel (Misha Collins), and Mary have a lead on Sam and set out to rescue him. Dean is uncomfortable with putting Mary in danger but she insists on going along. Meanwhile, Crowley (Mark A. Sheppard) is tipped off that Lucifer has taken over the body of rock star Vince Vicente (guest star Rick Springfield).”

In a recent issue of Entertainment Weekly, Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, and new showrunner Andrew Dabb spoke about what to expect. The series is going back to basics, like it was when it first began airing on The CW network. However, don’t confuse that with repetition. There will be a lot of new storylines, but they will be done in a familiar way: smaller, character-focused, and with a genre twist. In one upcoming episode, Sam and Dean will visit Iowa and pose as social workers to solve a case.

What do you think will happen with Sam, Dean, Mary, Castiel, Crowley, and Lucifer? Find out when Supernatural Season 12 premieres on October 13.
