Selena Gomez is reportedly in rehab to address her ongoing emotional issues, including anxiety, depression, and panic attacks, but is her drama with ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber, to blame?
Selena Gomez, 24, announced last month that she would be ending her Revival World Tour to focus on her health and because she had engaged in an Instagram feud with Bieber, 22, just two weeks prior, many were left wondering if he was somehow involved.
For years, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber have had an up and down relationship filled with reunions and breakups, but for the past year, Bieber has seemingly been moving on with other women. Although he and Gomez were seen together in Los Angeles last December and at his Purpose World Tour stop at the Staples Center in March, his relationships with the likes of Kourtney Kardashian, Hailey Baldwin, and Sofia Richie have appeared to take center stage in his life. Meanwhile, Selena Gomez has seemed to struggle when it comes to finding love elsewhere.

Although Selena Gomez has been linked to a number of other men, including Orlando Bloom, Niall Horan, Charlie Puth, and Samuel Krost, her rumored relationships haven’t lasted more than a couple of months, if that. Most recently, Gomez appeared to be enjoying her time with Krost but after a dinner date in November of last year and a couple of outings in January, she confirmed she was single.
As Selena Gomez attempted to move on, Bieber engaged in multiple relationships, the latest of which was with Sofia Richie, the 18-year-old daughter of singer Lionel Richie. After going public with Richie in August, Bieber traveled to Japan with his girlfriend and while there, he posted a photo of the two of them on Instagram. After the photo garnered backlash, Bieber took aim at his fans, stating that if they were truly his fans, they wouldn’t treat the people he likes so poorly. After reading what her ex-boyfriend wrote, Selena Gomez reminded the singer that his fans loved him and suggested that he keep his romance with girlfriend Richie to himself. From there, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber took a number of shots at one another and both claimed that the other had cheated.
After the feud, Selena Gomez returned to social media where she apologized for her uncharacteristic outburst and labeled the incident “selfish.” Weeks later, her Revival World Tour came to an abrupt end and a source claimed she blamed Bieber for pushing her over the edge and leading her to seek treatment in rehab, as reported by Radar Online on September 27.

According to a report by Life & Style, Selena Gomez is calling 2016 one of the “worst years of her life,” and that is reportedly due in part to her drama with Bieber. Selena Gomez feels “backed into a corner” by her ex-boyfriend, the magazine’s source explained.
As the insider revealed, Selena Gomez faced personal struggles after seeing photos of Bieber and Richie, whom he ultimately split from earlier this month, on social media.
“It was really hard for [Selena Gomez]. She saw Justin looking so happy and that really sent her into a downward spiral,” the insider claimed.
Now, however, the singer is reportedly determined to turn things around and get back to her old self.
“[Selena Gomez] wants everyone to know where she’s coming from and how she feels,” a friend of Gomez said. “She knows she needs to take care of herself.”
