WWE News: Kevin Owens Wants To Fight Brock Lesnar At 'WrestleMania'

WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens was on ESPN this week and was openly candid in the interview on a number of topics. There are a lot of people who hate Owens because of his in-ring persona, but this interview, which includes a story about Owen Hart and what he meant to his career as he worked his way into the WWE, shows that he is worthy of respect. However, another question that was asked to Kevin Owens was about what he would like to do at WrestleMania in 2017 for the WWE.

The answer to that was simple and direct. While he talked about wanting to wrestle a number of stars in the WWE, including Baron Corbin, he simply said that he wants to fight Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania next year.

Now. a lot will have to happen before Kevin Owens will ever get the chance to fight Brock Lesnar at a WrestleMania event. This year, the WWE gave Brock a match with Dean Ambrose and he didn't care at all about it and barely tried. Lesnar could have made Ambrose a bigger star and just slept through the entire match. Kevin Owens needs an energized Brock Lesnar to make this match work.

Kevin Owens is a perfect heel and has that special something that guys like Ric Flair and Randy Savage had before him. He is a heel that understands ring psychology and knows exactly when he needs to be dominating in a match, when he needs to play the coward, and the exact right time to step back and let the babyface work the crowd into a frenzy. Kevin Owens can make the WWE fans care about any babyface he wrestles.

The next thing that Kevin Owens needs to prove to the WWE is that fans will flock to see him fight Brock Lesnar. Fans wanted to see Dean Ambrose kill himself to beat Brock and that didn't happen. The majority of WWE mainstream fans are not as enamored with Kevin Owens as those who have followed his career. Those WWE fans will want to see Brock Lesnar destroy Owens, and that is a story that Kevin will have to sell.

Kevin Owens can do all that and more, but he just has to prove to the men in charge of the WWE that they can trust him with a prestigious match at WrestleMania, their biggest show of the year.
