During a commercial break, Kate Hudson and Jimmy Fallon got to chatting and reminiscing about their first concert experiences.

“I wanted to get into En Vogue, that was your first concert.”

Fallon actually realized that his first concert was a performance by Weird Al Yankovic, which Hudson said didn’t count.

“That was my first concert. I’m glad we didn’t get into that.

“En Vogue was my first concert that wasn’t a comedy thing.”

Hudson and Fallon then started naming all of the En Vogue hits they could think of when Kate, 37, started belting out a few verses of their song “Hold On.”

Even Jimmy Fallon looked taken aback by Kate’s vocal skills.

“They were my girls. I was obsessed with them.”

However, this wasn’t the first time Kate Hudson has showed off her impressive talent for singing. Hudson regularly belts out songs on her Instagram account.

The actress even had a recurring role on the musical television show Glee.

Hudson also performed in an all-star ensemble in the movie adaptation of the Broadway musical Nine.

Kate has even admitted to wanting to release an album at some point.

“”I’d love to do a record. I’ve always been scared of making music. I write music, and it’s super depressing.”

Hudson appeared on The Tonight Show to promote her upcoming film, Deepwater Horizon.

Kate Hudson, along with Mark Wahlberg will star in the film, inspired by a true story, about the 2010 BP oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.

The film is directed by Lone Survivor’s Peter Berg. The cinematic thriller will also star Kurt Russell, Dylan O’Brien, and Gina Rodriguez. The story follows the eleven crew members that were killed in the blast.

According to Deadline, the plot is based primarily on the famed New York Times article, “Deepwater Horizon’s Final Hour,” which detailed the real-life heroes who were working on the rig. The film is due to hit theaters September 30.

Kate Hudson will play Mark Wahlberg’s character’s wife.

This film is the first time Kate Hudson will star in a movie with her adopted father, Kurt Russell. Hudson’s mother, Goldie Hawn, married Kurt Russell back in 1983.

“It was a reminder of me of where I fell in love with making movies. It’s really boring [being on set] but for me as a kid, I loved it. I loved every aspect of it and I loved watching Kurt because he’s such a phenomenal actor.

“He puts so much care and effort into his roles in a way that I think is different than a lot of young people I’ve worked with. It’s just a different mentality.”

Kate mentioned in an interview on Good Morning America that she feels an added pressure knowing the families of the people who died in the disaster will be watching.

“You have this sort of extra, added thing in the back of your head going, you know, the families are going to see this movie so you really want to be careful.

“There’s no carelessness going into making a film like that when you know that the families are watching.”

Hudson has been a busy woman as of late. The actress just wrapped up post-production for the rock comedy, Rock the Kasbah. The film also stars Bruce Willis, Leem Lubany, Scott Caan, Zooey Deschanel, and Bill Murray.

Rock the Kasbah features a has-been rock manager who takes his only remaining client on a USO tour in Afghanistan when he discovers a young girl with an incredible voice. The film is scheduled for release November 13.
