Is Brad Pitt Dead? Actor Faces Rumor As He Attempts To Avoid Angelina Jolie Divorce, Estrangement From Kids

Brad Pitt is facing an online rumor claiming he has died in the midst of his divorce and custody battle with wife Angelina Jolie.

Just months after Jolie was faced with a similar rumor, Brad Pitt, 52, has been targeted by a death hoax on Facebook, which claims his passing has been confirmed by Fox News. However, the outlet’s signature banner is nothing more than a photoshop trick and the actor is alive and well.

“Facebook has put out a warning to users to not click on the fake report, because if you click into it and give the requested info, the hackers then get your passwords…and that means total control of your account,” Hollywood Life revealed to readers on September 27. “If any of [Brad Pitt’s] fans have fallen prey to the sick hoax, [Facebook] says to immediately change your password and run its malware software scanner.”

Brad Pitt’s wife, Angelina Jolie, was faced with a similar rumor earlier this year, which claimed the 41-year-old actress had taken her life.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie tied the knot on August 23, 2014 and celebrated their two-year wedding anniversary just weeks ago. Then, last Monday, Jolie suddenly filed for divorce and requested a judge grant her with full physical custody of their six children, Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and Vivienne and Knox, eight.

Understandably, Brad Pitt was left upset, but thankfully, he isn’t dead as rumors have claimed. Instead, he is reportedly doing what he can to save his marriage to Jolie and has talked to Jolie’s father, Jon Voigt, in hopes of getting his help with reconciling their relationship.

“[Brad Pitt] has made an effort to make contact and is keen to try and improve the situation between them,” a source close to the situation told the UK’s Daily Mirror, via the Daily Mail. “He’s hoping his good relationship with Angelina’s family will help to build bridges. He’s spoken to her dad Jon and hopes he may be able to play peacemaker.”

“It’s a very tricky time for the family but [Brad Pitt] hasn’t given up hope yet,” the source noted.

As the Brad Pitt death rumor continues to make its way around the web, the actor has reportedly remained estranged from his children. According to reports, Pitt hasn’t seen any of his kids since Jolie filed for divorce last Monday and quickly retreated to a rented home in Malibu, California.

“[Brad Pitt] really wants to see the kids and to work out an arrangement that is best for them,” an insider told E! News of Pitt’s concern for his kids. “[He] wants to work things out privately and amicably.”

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie share three adopted children, Maddox from Cambodia, Pax from Vietnam, and Zahara from Ethiopia. Prior to the start of their romance 12 years ago, Jolie adopted Maddox as a single parent and later adopted Pax and Zahara as a single parent as well. However, in the years that followed, Pitt became the adoptive father of all three of the children. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie also have three biological children. In May of 2006, just one year after confirming their relationship, the couple welcomed daughter Shiloh, now, 10. Two years later, they welcomed twins Vivienne and Knox.

Although Jolie wants full physical custody of the children, Brad Pitt is reportedly requesting he be granted with joint custody of the kids.
