Erin Andrews To Skip ‘Dancing With The Stars’ This Week, Who Will Fill In For Her As Co-Host?

Erin Andrews will take a break from her co-hosting duties on Dancing with the Stars this week, and it’s for a very sad reason. Andrews will support her longtime boyfriend, pro hockey player Jarrett Stoll, as he mourns the death of his nephew, according to Entertainment Tonight.

DWTS host Tom Bergeron took to Twitter to reveal that Erin won’t by his side this week for the live episodes of the ABC celebrity ballroom competition. Tom offered support and condolences to Andrews and Stoll, and in a separate tweet, the longtime ABC host revealed that while he’ll fly solo for Monday night’s show, for Tuesday’s results episode he will have a guest co-host.

“On Tuesday we’ll have someone (as yet undetermined) filling in for Erin,” Bergeron wrote in response to a fan’s question.

Fans have already given suggestions as to who should fill Erin Andrews’ shoes this week on Dancing with the Stars. Several social media commenters suggested that actress and former DWTS contestant Leah Remini should take the job. Remini filled in for Andrews two times previously on DWTS and she proved to be a hilarious hostess.

In addition to Remini, other fans would like to see pro dancer Peta Murgatroyd try her hand at the co-host gig. Peta is currently pregnant, and her fiancé, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, is partnered with Amber Rose on Dancing with the Stars this season.

One person that probably won’t be filling in for Erin Andrews is former Dancing with the Stars co-host Brooke Burke-Charvet. Brooke was unceremoniously ousted from her post as Bergeron’s sidekick just days before the show’s premiere in 2014. While she was blindsided by the firing, Charvet told Shape magazine that leaving the show was the best choice “she never made.”

“I honestly didn’t see it coming,” the mom of four said of her sudden firing from the hit reality show. “I thought it was kind of outrageous that it happened two days before the premiere, but, after all, it was only a TV show… This forced me to turn the page and create new opportunities for myself…Ultimately; leaving the ballroom may be the best choice I never made.”

Erin Andrews first joined Dancing with the Stars in 2014. The Fox sideline reporter has taken time off from the ABC dancing competition show in the past, most notably to cover the World Series for Fox both last fall and the year before. But during her time on DWTS, Andrews has made headlines for more than her mad reporter skills.

Erin’s famous peephole lawsuit dominated headlines earlier this year when she was awarded $55 million in the suit. The topic is a taboo one on Dancing with the Stars, where the cast and crew members are reportedly forbidden to talk about it. A source for Hollywood Life revealed that talking about Andrews’ lawsuit could be a fireable offense on DWTS, as producers are taking her privacy and emotional state very seriously.

Andrews also caused a buzz last season when she inadvertently blurted Maks and Peta’s baby news before they had a chance to tell the rest of the cast. According to TMZ, Erin Andrews was mic’d up during a DWTS dress rehearsal last spring when she congratulated the DWTS couple on their pregnancy. But Maks and Peta had not shared their news with everyone on set, so their secret was blown before they had the chance to make a big announcement of their own.

Of course, with 23 seasons under its belt, Dancing with the Stars has plenty of alums who could fill in for Erin Andrews for one night. Who would you like to see as co-host?
