Patricia Grannum

Park Bo Gum has been getting a lot of attention lately due to his charming performance as Crown Prince Hyomyeong in Moonlight Drawn By Clouds (Love In the Moonlight).

Bo Gum's rise to fame has been pretty fast

As KDrama Stars notes, Park Bo Gum made his film debut only five years ago when he appeared in the film Blind, alongside Kim Ha Neul. His first leading role in a Korean drama came in 2015 when he starred in Reply 1988

Park Bo Gum declared bankruptcy due to some poor financial decisions made in his youth.

"It happened when Park Bo Gum was young, and because it's his own personal situation, we don't know the details. We do know that it was resolved last year. Currently, there are no problems," his agency, Blossom Entertainment, said in an official statement on the issue earlier this year.

When Park started acting, the loan shark demanded that he pay the money back, but he said no because he was not making enough money at the time to do so. When the shark insisted that the Moonlight Drawn By Clouds star repay the debt, Park Park Bo Gum filed for bankruptcy in December, 2014.

He thinks he's a bad kisser

In some behind-the-scenes Moonlight Drawn By The Clouds footage released by KBS recently, you can see Park Bo Gum say that he's "not very good at this" after messing up his first onscreen kiss with his Moonlight co-star, Kim Yoo Jung. Maybe he just needs some more practice. There are probably loads of Bo Gum female fans, or "Gummies" as they're called, who would volunteer to assist him.

While his talent as an actor has become his claim to fame, Park Bo Gum could have been a K-Pop star if he wanted to. As K-Drama Amino notes, Bo Gum has a lot of musical talent, particularly as a singer-songwriter. When he was in highschool, he sent a video of himself singing to a long list of talent agencies and started training to be a singer. But he was advised to try acting and his life took a whole new course after that.
