Angelina Jolie’s Ambition To Become Head Of United Nations Led To Divorce From Brad Pitt

According to recent reports released Sunday morning, Angelina Jolie’s political ambitions strained her relationship with Brad Pitt, which subsequently led to the much-publicized divorce earlier this week.

TMZ reports that the fall out between Pitt and Angelina was sparked by the Tomb Raider star’s obsession to become the head of the United Nations. Jolie was so bent on achieving her goal that she went so far as to hire two political advisers and install a “war room” where she can discuss ways to bolster her public image in the political sphere.

Jolie’s humanitarian work, however, started to weigh heavily on the family as she insisted on taking their six children to war-torn and dangerous countries such as Iraq and Lebanon. Angelina made it a point to bring with them a security team during these trips, but Pitt didn’t think it was enough.

The tension around these talks rose to a fevered pitch when Jolie decided to take their children with them to Syria.

“Brad became increasingly upset over Angelina’s political ambitions,” TMZ reported on Sept. 25. “Angelina had taken the kids to various war-torn countries, including Lebanon and Iraq. She would always make sure to bring a security team that was the best of the best on her trips … but for Brad, it still wasn’t enough.”

TMZ‘s sources claim that while Pitt had always been supportive of Jolie’s humanitarian work, he always disagreed with the idea of taking their kids with them due to the danger involved.

Since the split, Angelina has hidden the children away from Pitt, as she and the kids reportedly took residence in a luxurious hotel in Malibu.

“Angelina has covered up all the ocean view windows with lawn furniture cushions so no one can see in or out,” a source told HollywoodLife.com on Sept. 24. “She is paranoid and has barricaded herself, and the children, inside the compound.”

Amidst accusations that Pitt had a physical altercation with son Maddox, the actor is seeking to clear his name by cooperating with the FBI’s investigation.

Brad is reportedly distraught about being kept away from his children but he is confident that his name will be cleared soon, as reported by Us Weekly.

“He’s confident he will be cleared. The kids are asking to see Pitt, so he’s hoping to see them next week,” a source told the publication.

Angelina is seeking sole physical custody of their six children Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8.

One thing going for Brad is the report that his kids are begging to see him. In any case, Pitt is hoping to see them next week.

“Brad knows the severity of the allegations and wants to be cleared of abuse before he sees them,” an insider told Us Weekly. “He’s confident he will be cleared. The kids are asking to see Brad, so he’s hoping to see them next week.”

Things got even more complicated for Pitt as reports emerged claiming that he has had an affair with Allied co-star Marion Cotillard. Cotillard took to Instagram to debunk the rumors by announcing that she and her husband Guillaume Canet are expecting their second child.

“Firstly, many years ago, I met the man of my life, father of our son and of the baby we are expecting. He is my love, my best friend, the only one that I need.”

Cotillard ended her letter by wishing Pitt and Pitt “peace” during their difficult time.
