‘Prison Break’ Season 5: Wentworth Miller Gives Details, Cast and Release Date

Prison Break is returning and the Season 5 trailer looks like it will be an epic season. Dominic Purcell, who plays Lincoln Burrows, revealed that Wentworth Miller semi-retired from acting. It seemed like Prison Break will not return, especially with the way it ended.

Last we saw of Michael Scofield, Alex Mahone (who is not returning unfortunately) shows Sara and Lincoln Michael’s medical records and he leaves a DVD saying goodbye to his brother and his unborn child.

However, the trailer shows that Michael is back and he is in prison. The showrunners have not revealed how they will write Scofield back into the show.

The trailer shows that the resourceful T-Bag bringing evidence to Lincoln Burrows that Michael might still be alive.

Burrows then shows the evidence to Sara Tancredi is not easily convinced, even though she wants it to be true.

A clip shows Lincoln meeting Michael in prison and promising to get him out. Burrows recruits Scofield’s old friends C-sNote and Fernando Sucre to help break him out of prison.

Prison Break will premiere on Fox in early 2017, airing Thursdays at 9/8c. The fictional brothers are also filming Legends of Tommorow, which is a spin-off of The Flash on CW where Wentworth Miller he plays Leonard Snart also known as Captain Cold.

According to Digital Spy, the show will explain how Michael Scofield is still alive; however, the details have not been revealed.

“I would describe it as a bit of a sequel,” Fox Television Group co-chair Dana Walden said. “It picks up with the characters several years after we left them in the show. The brothers will be back.”

Yes, both brothers – the late Mr Scofield will feature in the revival: “The [concept] that I’ve heard [for his resurrection] is completely brilliant, so people will be fine,” Dominic Purcell stated.

Walden reiterated that the revival will provide “a logical and believable explanation to why the characters are alive and still moving around the world”.

If you are wondering how Scofield ended up in yet another prison, Purcell said: “Obviously we left off with Michael presumably dead – he wasn’t, he ended up working for this organization.”

The actor also revealed that current issues such as ISIS will be part of the plot.

Scofield is locked up in a prison in Yemen and it is one of the toughest prisons in the world. One of the trailers describe it as the biggest escape yet in the series.

It seems as though Michael has been working for a terrorist organization and it may have changed him. Will he be the same Michael we saw? “It’s been seven years and he’s walked a dark road,” according to Wentworth miller.

“He’s been up to some not so nice things and there’s a question as to whether or not he’s even qualified to be considered a good man. Has he crossed the line in a way that he can never come back? That’s at the heart of the story we’re currently telling.”

It will be interesting to see how a possibly morally bankrupt Michael Scofield will interact with his son that he has never met and Sara after seven years of no contact.

What happens after Michael breaks out of the prison? There are a lot of interesting plots to explore and the spoilers saw seem like Prison Break Season 5 is going to be a good comeback.

And then there is T-Bag, can he be trusted? Fans are curious about what fan favorite T-bag has been up to all these years.
