WWE News: Update On Eva Marie’s Time Away From WWE, Dealing With Nagging Injuries?

Eva Marie, former-NXT champion contender, hasn’t had the best run in the WWE so far. In her time there, she’s become a reality TV star on the hit show, Total Divas. Marie was placed on the main roster at the start and wasn’t well-liked by the WWE Universe. It got so bad that she was sent down to WWE NXT to develop her skills. Since she wasn’t an Indy wrestler, and mostly a model, she didn’t come into the WWE with a fine-tuned skill set.

Therefore, it was a consistent challenge for Marie from the beginning. Her time in WWE NXT easily jump-started her career and gave her an immediate advantage on the main roster. Marie was so hated by the NXT crowds that it played to her strengths; a manipulative and sly heel that cheated to win. As it stated above, Marie challenged Bayley for the NXT Women’s championship and almost won. She had the help from Nia Jax, which just created more disdain for her character.

Fast-forward several months and the WWE Draft takes place. Marie found herself on the blue brand, Smackdown Live, as the best female heel on Tuesday nights. She started with a feud against Becky Lynch, the Smackdown Women’s champion. However, at that time, a champion wasn’t crowned. A tag-team match was scheduled at SummerSlam that Marie was supposed to contribute at. Then, she was tagged with suspension.

Marie was slated to be out for 30 days, which slightly killed any momentum. Despite multiple attempts from WWE Creative to still garner heat for Marie while she was gone, it seemed like the WWE Universe forgot about her since she got suspended. The 30 days have depleted, leaving her ready to return. Eva Marie took to Instagram to update all of the WWE Universe and “All Red Everything” fan base on her situation and what she’s been dealing with.

“Recovery: Physical Therapy, @motusspecialist – The importance of recovery time for an athlete can not be over emphasized. Often we put the main focus on planning our training and overlook planning our recovery. This is a mistake. Building recovery time into any training program is important because this is the time that the body adapts to the stress of exercise and the real training effect takes place. Recovery also allows the body to replenish energy stores and repair damaged tissues. Don’t neglect your recovery. @ignaciosgram#Athlete#PhysicalTherapy#Recovery

Marie posted a video of her rehabbing at a physical therapists’ office. Nobody knew she was dealing with nagging injuries until she posted that update. That explains why she’s still out after her suspension ended a few days ago, according to 411Mania. At this point, how should the WWE book her return? It was natural hatred from WWE fans that drew the attention to officials. To the audience, it was easy not to root for her in a match.

In a recent article by the Inquisitr, the supposed plans for her return won’t happen anytime soon. She was chosen to star in a Hollywood movie alongside movie star Nicolas Cage. The WWE wants to keep her away from the ring until filming has wrapped up. So, it could be a little while longer until the WWE Universe sees the “All Red Everything” superstar.

Frankly, this is a big opportunity for her to gain worldwide marketability. At this point, the WWE doesn’t have any true superstars. John Cena, Brock Lesnar, and the Miz are three names, but no women come even close to those numbers. Given an appropriate amount of time, Marie has the potential to be an entertainment icon. As for the wrestling ring, that may become a second priority.
