Paris Hilton’s Transition From Immature Teenage Heiress To Successful Businessperson

Paris Hilton, the heiress of the huge Hilton empire, has criticized the present-day reality television shows for featuring scripted scenes that she says are invented to make the program look more appealing. Recently, Paris Hilton appeared on the American talk show Today and poured her heart out to Kathie Lee and Hoda Kotb, the hosts of the show, who were keen to know about Paris Hilton’s views on various aspects of her life.

During her show, the socialite indirectly took shots at popular reality television shows like Keeping Up with the Kardashians and the Real Housewives series, which she claims stimulate everyday people to admire the lifestyle led by famous American personalities and wealthy housewives. Paris Hilton’s disapproval of the reality shows featuring Kim Kardashian, her former best friend, and Kyle Richards, her aunt, clearly reveal that the heiress is not happy with the current state of reality television.

It seems natural for Paris Hilton to be upset about the current trend as she was somewhat of a trendsetter in reality television, ever since she featured in Fox’s The Simple Life along with Nicole Ritchie, another wealthy socialite. The Simple Life showed the rich girls struggling to make ends meet by taking up low-paying jobs like restaurant waiters, camp counselors, and room cleaners.

Indeed, the show became very popular as audiences were curious to witness the struggles undertaken by the wealthy and often innocent young women. In contrast, the present-day television shows mainly focus on the glamorous lives of the rich and famous. According to Today, Paris Hilton spoke about the drastic changes reality television has gone through since the last decade.

“[Reality television has] changed. The Simple Life was a real reality show, and I think today it’s more a scripted-mostly shows.”

Paris Hilton also revealed that she hardly has the time to follow reality television programs anyway. She has become a busy businessperson ever since she began using her status as one of the most well-known and recognizable socialites in the world to promote her fashion products and fragrances, that are currently available in 50 Paris Hilton stores worldwide. In fact, the Mirror reports that Paris Hilton revealed that she was so busy that she did not even have time to think about marriage.

“I’m so busy with my work that I don’t even have time for a relationship or even myself, so I would love to find someone someday that I could trust to have a family with.”

Apart from endorsing her perfumes, handbags, watches, and footwear, Paris Hilton has also ventured into the real estate market by extending her brand name to a luxurious condominium in the Philippines. Clearly, Paris Hilton has come a long way from being a wealthy socialite and party girl who gained notoriety after her sex tapes were leaked in the public domain.

Another embarrassing incident came when she was arrested in 2005 for driving under the influence of alcohol. Despite her infamy in her youth, Paris Hilton has moved on by focusing her career as a fashion tycoon. Recently, the now-successful businessperson launched Gold Rush, the 20th perfume in her fragrance line, which celebrates the romances that were featured in old Hollywood movies.

Even though her perfumes may not be as famous as other popular brands, the Paris Hilton-endorsed fragrance line enables the Hilton heiress to earn an enormous amount of $2 billion annually. Additionally, the socialite also spends a portion of her time on the Mediterranean island of Ibiza where she moonlights as a DJ to entertain the crowds who frequent the Ibiza clubbing scene.

Moreover, Paris Hilton is still featuring as a model in popular fashion magazines, having recently appeared on the cover of Bella New York. The socialite celebrated her success as a cover star by hosting a party at Bagatelle, the renowned restaurant in New York. According to Page Six, Paris Hilton was in a happy and generous mood as she gladly handed out a $100 bill to a homeless man who claimed to want the money for pizza and sex.
