George And Amal Clooney: What Holds Them Together Amid The Brad And Angelina Split?

In the midst of the surprising divorce filing of their A-list friends Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, George and Amal Clooney are the picture of happiness in their high-profile marriage. Although Amal is often overseas working on cases as a human rights barrister and George is completing his film projects, the two are making it work. Their interests and goals unify them, regardless of the fact that their careers seem so far removed one from the other. Both George and Amal are advocates for Syrian refugees and take pride in using their status to benefit others.

The pair also tries their best to make time for one another. Seeing as a good deal of Amal’s time working as a barrister is spent in London, the couple has recently completed renovations on their London estate. The secret to happiness in their marriage is clearly finding a balance between work and quality time.

People relays the words of a source detailing the way the Clooneys seek to make this a priority.

“…between all their important work, they always stay focused on keeping their marriage happy and healthy. They are very keen on not spending too much time apart.”

The pair are each impressive in their own endeavors and are clearly inspired by one another. On September 16, Amal spoke in front of the United Nations for the first time, urging the prosecution of ISIS leaders for genocide and crimes against humanity. Five days prior to this, George Clooney, 55, worked alongside Don Cheadle to present an investigation carried out through his organization the Sentry about Sudanese profiteering.

For as much hard and important work the Clooneys are a part of, they are always sure to find time for fun and relaxation. As the publication shares, George and Amal are keen to combine their work with fun activities, as well. While George promoted Money Monster at Cannes Film Festival, the couple were sure to take time for a few dinner dates on the French Riviera.

Over this past summer, George and Amal were also sure to spend a number of weeks at their villa in Lake Como, Italy, where they dined at their top choice restaurants and found time to enjoy the company of friends and family.

The owner of a local restaurant called Il Gatto Nere, Paolo Quarantotto, spoke about the connection that is obvious between George and Amal when he sees them.

“They look more in love than ever. They are still in the honeymoon mode. So attentive with each other.”

After two years of marriage, that is certainly refreshing to hear when it comes to a Hollywood romance. As stated, the two-year mark for the Clooneys’ pals Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie was the demise of their relationship, since Jolie just filed for divorce from Pitt after stating she was not a fan of his parenting style. The couple were surrounded by rumors for months leading up to the breaking news of an actual divorce.

Much like Brad and Angelina, George and Amal have found themselves the subject of divorce rumors as well, yet most were completely outlandish and stated false details about George feeling like a “trophy husband” to Amal. However, Brad and Angeline seemed to be growing apart over the years, while Amal and George seem to merely be growing closer and closer. The tabloids continuously fling fabricated rumors their way, yet nothing sticks because the pair are clearly smitten.

When the couple hits the red carpet together, they are always sure to dazzle, yet Amal steals the spotlight with her impeccable sense of style. Recently, the two were spotted leaving the UN together, and Amal had most eyes on her, yet George put on a gaze-worthy display as well, as the Daily Mail notes.

“The actor looked equally stylish in a fitted black suit paired with a white shirt and striped grey tie to complete his suave look. Once he finally got his hands on his wife, George held on tight as they walked with their fingers entwined in each others.”
