‘Southern Charm’ Season 4 Is Filming: Kathryn Dennis is Out, Thomas Ravenel is In [Update]
UPDATE: 2/26/2017: Kathryn Dennis has confirmed personally that she is all in for the new Southern Charm season.
The Southern Charm cast for Season 4 has been assembled, and they have started shooting in and around Charleston, South Carolina. The bottom line: Thomas Ravenel is in and Kathryn Dennis is out, despite her involvement in every dramatic storyline for three seasons. Jennifer Snowden is said to be the female taking Kathryn’s place in the new season of Southern Charm, alongside Landon and Cameran.
As Season 4 of Southern Charm started filming, Kathryn Dennis was still in talks to return to the show, but it seems it was not meant to be, according to the Inquisitr. After the tumultuous Southern Charm reunion, Kathryn went to rehab in California to address her problems with substance abuse, and she has reportedly continued to test clean since returning home to Charleston. Neither Bravo nor Dennis have fully closed the door on their relationship, but for now, Kathryn Dennis is not a part of the Southern Charm cast.
Rumors continue to swirl that Bravo asked Kathryn to participate in the show as a day player (meaning “friend of the cast here and there”), but Kathryn isn’t interested. Sounds like Bravo would like to call on her if and when the show is in ratings trouble.
Residents of Charleston have spotted all of the signs, literally and figuratively, indicating that Southern Charm is filming all over the state, including the Low Country. The Charleston City Paper says that they saw a tweet from Rutledge Cab company, indicating that the show was filming that day.
“Southern Charm here filming lunch.”
Although they were shooed away, they ran into Shep Rose, who confirmed that the season is a go.

Fitsnews has indicated that the cast of Southern Charm was in the Low Country filming the show to quiet those who claim the show was canceled.
“Anyway… if there were any doubts as to whether Southern Charm is back, we can now put them to rest…”
A sign on the door of Holy City Houses indicated that Southern Charm was being filmed in and around the area and warning visitors that if they are also in the area, they might be filmed.

Fitsnews indicates that since the “toxic” relationship between Thomas Ravenel and Kathryn Dennis has been incredible for ratings, the show will continue to focus on the two for Season 4. However, this seems unlikely if Kathryn isn’t part of the cast. It could be that the show will just present Ravenel’s side of everything while Kathryn seeks new opportunities.

The real tip-off that Southern Charm was a go for Season 4 was a recording of a voicemail left for a personal trainer by none other than Thomas Ravenel, who posted that he had quit Southern Charm and was severing his relationship with Bravo several times in the last year. But Fitsnews says that on the recording, Ravenel claimed he wanted to get rid of his gut, as filming had started.
“I’m doing a season four – I wanna lose this gut. I’m in pretty good shape – I got this persisting gut, I don’t know if it’s a beer gut or whatever it is – I need to get on a regimen.”
And Ravenel indicated to the trainer that he would be filming the full season of Southern Charm.
“The show starts in a couple weeks it’ll go for a couple months. But I really wanna look good on this show and hopefully portray myself being a good father.”
