‘Storks’ Post-Credits Scene: There’s A Cute Surprise For Those Willing To Stay After The Credits Roll
Moviegoers who see Storks will want to know if its worth waiting an extra few minutes at the end to see an after-credits scene — and they’ll be pleasantly surprised.
The movie opening this weekend follows the adventures of Junior, a stork who delivers packages for internet retailer Cornerstone.com but accidentally gets tasked with delivering a baby girl. The movie has quite a bit of star power, with Andy Samberg voicing Junior and the voices of Jennifer Aniston and Kelsey Grammer.
The after-credits scene, also known in the movie industry as a credit cookie or stinger, isn’t exactly common in the family movie genre. Action movies — and especially superhero films — have come to use this end-of-the-movie plot devise quite frequently, but within comedy movies and kids’ fare it’s not quite as common.
So, what kind of after-credits scene can moviegoers expect in Storks?
Well, to start, it’s not exactly an after-credits scene. There is an extra bit after the credits roll, but it actually takes place during the credits and not afterward. As Media Stinger noted, the credits include some extra baby pictures to wrap up the action. It’s a cute surprise for those who wait, even if it’s not exactly a critical plot point.

There could potentially be a big audience looking for an after-credits scene in Storks, especially in the animated film’s opening weekend. The movie is opening on more than 3,800 screens in its first weekend, and industry experts are looking for it to finish the weekend box office race in second place behind potential blockbuster The Magnificent Seven, raking in about $36 million.
Movie experts also believe Storks could help break the streak of poor openings for family movies stretching far back into the summer.
It will likely help that Storks has gotten some strong early reviews. Brian Truitt of USA Today wrote that the movie has strong appeal outside of the obvious children demographic. It also raises some surprisingly deep points for a family movie, he added.
“The new animated movie (*** out of four; rated PG; in theaters nationwide Friday) puts a hilariously clever spin on the old legend that storks bring infants to willing parents, while effectively sneaking in messages about making your own family, embracing one’s idiosyncrasies and using a cooing infant to keep hungry wolves at bay. (Maybe don’t test that last one out in the wild.)”
The Storks after-credits scene isn’t the only extra footage that fans will get to enjoy. Warner Bros. has actually put out a blooper reel that gives out some extra footage laughs, and it’s actually available now.
“The Storks blooper reel bears everything you’d want in a montage of ornithilogical outtakes, with particular emphasis on Samberg’s Junior and the eccentric Pigeon Toady, voiced by Stephen Kramer Glickman,” Entertainment Weekly noted.

The movie also has a bit of an interactive touch to its marketing, with a “Baby Builder” that lets users construct their own baby to be delivered.

So families going out to see Storks should make sure to stick around for the after-credits scene, but they can also save a bit of time and leave once the pictures are done flipping.
