Giuliana Rancic: I Love Being A Mother

Giuliana Rancic has waited a long time to be a mom, and now that she and husband Bill Rancic finally have a child of their own the new mother said she absolutely loves the role.

The E! News host welcomed baby Edward Duke, who came via surrogate in late August. Speaking to Parade magazine, Giuliana Rancic said the experience of being a parent made all the waiting and hard work worth it.

“I knew it was going to be great, especially because we worked so hard at having a baby and we wanted a baby so bad, but it’s even better than I expected,” Rancic said. “He’s really opening his eyes now, and when he opens his eyes and stares at you for ten minutes at a time while you’re feeding him, you just realize why there’s that mother-son bond and I say to myself, ‘How am I ever going to say no to this kid?’ He’s got me. It’s everything I had hoped for and more.”

Giuliana Rancic noted that she’s still trying to figure out just how to juggle motherhood and her career, but that she’s confident she’ll work it out.

So far, she’s even enjoying the late nights, Access Hollywood noted.

“I think that it keeps you healthy and sane, but I wondered how people function when they have to get up at all hours of the night. But you just do it,” she said. “You function because you enjoy doing it. I think the biggest surprise is probably enjoying those overnight feedings.

Giuliana Rancic and husband Bill documented their struggle into parenthood on their reality TV show Giuliana and Bill. The couple had kept the identity of their surrogate closely guarded, but finally revealed the identity of the woman, Delphine, in a recent interview.
