Nina Dobrev Returns In ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 8 Episode 2?

Is Nina Dobrev back in The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 2, titled “Today Will Be Different”?

According to iTechPost, titles of Season 8 has officially been revealed. The first episode in the final season is titled “Hello, Brother.” This greeting was earlier made by Damon (Ian Somerhalder) to his brother Stefan (Paul Wesley).

The second episode is titled “Today Will Be Different.” This statement is taken from Elena Gilbert’s (Dobrev) diary after the painful death of her parents. According to the outlet, this proves that the actress is back for one last time.

Apart from this speculation, Celeb Dirty Laundry notes that if Dobrev agrees to come back, there are going to be chances that she will have more screen time with Paul Wesley instead of sharing the screen with her ex-lover Ian Somerhalder.

The publication further notes that if this speculation is correct, then there are chances that Somerhalder’s character, Damon Salvatore, will probably have a minor role in The Vampire Diaries Season 8.

Up until now, Wesley has remained silent regarding executive producer Julie Plec’s announcement of bringing Nina Dobrev back in the show. On the other hand, Nikki Reed’s husband has been very vocal about not wanting his ex-girlfriend back.

So, according to the publication, Wesley and Plec might have come to terms with Dobrev. If she comes back to the show, she will have more screen time with Wesley and her ex-boyfriend will be left out in some major sequences.

When Dobrev was still in TVD, she talked about her could-have-been relationship with Paul Wesley.

During her conversation with Teen Vogue, Dobrev revealed that it is very common for two co-stars to date.

“If I wasn’t dating Ian, I’d be dating Paul. A lot of people who work together end up dating, so it wouldn’t be unusual, but I’ve never dated anyone I’ve worked with.”

Apart from this, the duo has already shared some romantic scenes in the supernatural series. So, it won’t be surprising for the fans to see their reunion for one more time.

But does Nina Dobrev really want to come back to television?

After leaving TVD, Dobrev has made a good career from her varied roles in feature films. xXx: Return of Xander Cage has already created enough media buzz for its ensemble cast. Apart from that, she has a pretty hectic year ahead of her.

With films like Arrivals, Crash Pad, and Flatliners, it will make extremely hard for Dobrev to spare few days or weeks to shoot her portions of The Vampire Diaries.

Apart from all the feature films, Nina Dobrev has already made it clear that she is done with The Vampire Diaries and won’t be coming back. During her chat with Interview Magazine, the Bulgarian beauty talked about her decision to leave TVD and her future as an actress.

“I made the difficult decision last season to leave. I had decided years before that I’d go the run of my contract and I wouldn’t extend, but it was a surprise for everyone else that didn’t know that. I always knew that I’d signed up for a certain amount of time and I fulfilled it. I had a great experience, but everything has to come to an end and this was my time. It’s like high school, you do four years and then you move onto the college.”

However, now it looks like she is indeed coming back.

The Vampire Diaries Season 8 will air on October 21 at 8 p.m. on The CW. Are you excited to possibly see Nina Dobrev sharing the screen with Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder? Sound off in the comments below.
