Selena Gomez Hiding Drugs, Rehab Or Suffering Lupus Flare Amid Justin Bieber ‘Downward Spiral’?

Selena Gomez has turned into the mystery woman of the music world, with speculation growing about what really caused her to abruptly cancel her Revival Tour. Gomez cited anxiety and depression, linking it to lupus, but the occurrence of that cancellation in the wake of her sudden social media war with her former boyfriend Justin Bieber has caused rumors ranging from drugs and rehab to blaming Bieber himself.

Us Weekly described how Selena reacted to the situation with Justin, citing an insider who revealed that she went to the unusual step of actually changing her phone number just to prevent him from calling her.

The two have managed to continue their on-again, off-again romance since 2011, but now Gomez is taking action to try to cut off any chances he will reach out to her again.

“[Selena] changed her phone number. She told everyone not to give it to [Justin],” revealed the source.

The motivation for that extreme step? The social media war of words between Gomez and Bieber, clarified the insider. That battle began when Justin chided his fans for their harsh criticism of his new gal pal Sofia Richie, who he recently dumped. Selena leaped into the war to defend his fans while at the same time throwing shade at his new relationship.

The Biebs then claimed that Gomez had cheated on him.

“Oh I forgot about You and Zayn?” he questioned, causing speculation that she had cheated on him with former One Direction member Zayn Malik.

That social media battle occurred in mid-August and Selena canceled her tour at the end of August. The insider clarified what happened to the “Kill ‘Em With Kindness” singer and how her former boyfriend is connected.

“Selena lost it. She can be fragile emotionally and Justin is a major factor.”

Gomez has given the reason for canceling her Revival Tour as anxiety related to lupus, announcing in her statement that the break is intended to help her deal with “panic attacks and depression.”

However, Life & Style’s sources report that Selena is describing 2016 as “one of the worst years of her life,” with Bieber taking the heat. The insiders revealed that Gomez feels “backed into a corner” by Justin.

One of the sources linked the onset of Selena’s problems to all the photos that were posted on social media showing Bieber getting hot and heavy with Sofia.

“It was really hard for her,” explained the insider.

“[Selena] saw Justin looking so happy and that really sent her into a downward spiral.”

But despite everything, Gomez is seeking to experience a comeback by focusing on caring for herself, a friend told Life & Style.

“She wants everyone to know where she’s coming from and how she feels,” revealed the pal. “She knows she needs to take care of herself.”

However, Radar Online reports that Selena is trying to “blame substance abuse” on her health issues.

“It is terrible that she has lupus, but she is using this as an excuse for everything lately and the truth is that she is just a mess right now,” a source told Radar. “She has been feeling completely alone lately.”

The insider alleges that Selena had turned to “a potentially deadly cocktail of Lunesta, Ambien, Klonopin, and Xanax.” Radar reports that her “loved ones” organized an intervention, and checked Gomez into a rehab treatment facility.

“Everyone close to her is worried because she seems to be back to old behavior,” added the source, noting that Selena also spent time in treatment in 2014.

Moreover, although the sources cited previously link the singer’s problems to Bieber as well as to her lupus, Radar claims that it was the horrifying June murder of her close friend, Christina Grimmie, that caused Gomez to fall “spiraling into drug abuse.”
