The Green Bay Packers will host the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field in NFL Week 3 action on Sunday afternoon. It is an important game for both teams, and the division rivalry will add a bit extra for both sides. Over the last few years, these two teams have had some entertaining matchups, especially last year’s infamous hail mary win by the Packers.

Detroit is coming off their loss of the season last week against the Tennessee Titans. It was a disappointing loss, to say the least, after their impressive Week 1 victory on the road over the Indianapolis Colts.

Green Bay, on the other hand, suffered a tough 17-14 victory on the road against the Minnesota Vikings. There are a lot of fans and media members reacting to the loss in very aggressive fashion. Quoting one of Aaron Rodgers’ famous quotes, fans and the media need to “R-E-L-A-X” despite the loss in Minnesota.

Looking ahead to this week’s matchup, there are quite a few things for fans to keep an eye on. It won’t be a blowout win for either team if they play up to their potential.

After the loss in Minnesota, Aaron Rodgers has been receiving a lot of criticism for the poor performance that he had. He will get back on track this week against a porous Detroit secondary. Rodgers will throw for at least 300 yards and three touchdowns in the contest and will help put Packers’ fans to rest.

Theo Riddick Will Total 130 Yards, Two Touchdowns

News broke in Detroit that Ameer Abdullah was placed on IR this week and that Theo Riddick will take over the starting running back job. He will be an every-down back and will be a tough matchup for the Packers’ defense. Riddick will total at least 130 yards and two touchdowns throughout the game.

Green Bay’s Defense Will Sack Matthew Stafford Five Times

One big improvement that has been noticed so far this season has been the Packers’ defense. They have a very talented secondary, although Sam Shields is currently dealing with a concussion issue. Green Bay’s pass rush is also lethal, and that will show this week with at least five sacks on Matthew Stafford.

Detroit Will Turn the Football Over At Least Three Times

Matthew Stafford and the Lions’ offense is going to have their hands full with the Green Bay defense. With the pressure that we predicted in the last bold prediction, the Lions will turn the football over at least three times. Whether all of the turnovers are interceptions from Stafford or perhaps a fumble or two, the Green Bay defense will have a huge game.

The Green Bay Packers Will Pull Out A Hard-Fought Victory

Neither of these teams is expected to blow the other out this Sunday in Week 3 NFL action. They both have a lot of talent on their rosters, but the Packers are the better all-around team. Green Bay will pull out a hard-fought victory when everything is said and done and will improve to 2-1 on the young season.

Expect to see this game come down to the fourth quarter. Both teams are going to put up points, but the Packers’ defense will prove to be the difference. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are in desperate need of a win, and they will find a way to get the job done against Detroit this week.
