Marion Cotillard Addresses Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie’s Divorce, Confirms Pregnancy On Instagram

Marion Cotillard is speaking out against the ongoing rumors claiming she and Brad Pitt engaged in an affair on the set of their World War II film Allied.

While Marion Cotillard remained completely silent in regard to the reports earlier this year, which continued through the entirety of production on the flick, she has opted to address the rumors following the shocking news of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s divorce.

“This is going to be my first and only reaction to the whirlwind news that broke 24 hours ago and that I was swept up into,” Marion Cotillard wrote to her fans and followers on Instagram on September 21. “I am not used to commenting on things like this nor taking them seriously but as this situation is spiraling and affecting people I love, I have to speak up. ”

“Firstly, many years ago, I met the man of my life, father of our son and of the baby we are expecting. He is my love, my best friend, the only one that I need,” Marion Cotillard said, citing her longtime partner, Guillaume Canet.

Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet have been together since 2007 and share one child together, son Marcel, five. However, while there have been many reports claiming Canet is Cotillard’s husband and suggesting the pair got married shortly after their romance began, the rumors have yet to be confirmed and Cotillard has often been heard referring to Canet as her boyfriend, not her husband.

When news first broke of Marion Cotillard’s pregnancy earlier this week, on the same day that Pitt’s divorce was confirmed, rumors began swirling that Pitt could be the father. On September 20, X17 Online suggested that Marion Cotillard had been hiding her pregnancy from fans because of the child’s potential paternity scandal. Around the same time, Heavy claimed Marion Cotillard was married to Canet and added that she had allegedly tied the knot with the French actor, who has previously been married to actress Diane Kruger, in 2007.

According to Heavy, Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet have known one another for nearly 20 years. Following an initial meeting in 1997, Cotillard and Canet reunited in 2003 for the film Love Me If You Dare and later appeared in the 2009 movie The Last Flight.

As Marion Cotillard’s statement to fans continued, she noted that while there have been claims suggesting she is devastated by the recent rumors regarding her connection to the divorce of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, she’s actually doing just fine.

“To those who have indicated that I am devastated, I am very well thank you,” she wrote. “This crafted conversation isn’t distressing. And to all the media and the haters who are quick to pass judgment, I sincerely wish you a swift recovery.”

“Finally, I do very much wish that Angelina and Brad, both whom I deeply respect, will find peace in this very tumultuous moment,” she added.

The latest rumor regarding Brad Pitt’s alleged romance with Marion Cotillard was shared by Page Six on September 20 and claimed Angelina Jolie had discovered the relationship was truly happening after hiring an investigator to track her husband.

“[Angelina Jolie] hired a private eye because she felt that he was fooling around with [Marion Cotillard] on the set, and it turns out, he was. And that was the final straw,” the source said.

Marion Cotillard and Brad Pitt’s new movie, Allied, hits theaters on November 23.
