Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie Embark On Custody Battle Over Their Six Kids

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are parting ways and sadly, their split does not appear to be amicable.

Although Angelina Jolie is not asking for spousal support from her 52-year-old husband, she has made a number of shocking allegations against him in her court documents and requested full physical custody of their six kids.

On September 20, TMZ shared details of Angelina Jolie’s divorce filing, which included her request for custody and noted issues of disputes over their kids, substance abuse, and anger. According to the report, Angelina Jolie wants full custody of her and Pitt’s kids because she is concerned for their safety due to Pitt’s alleged use of drugs and alcohol.

On Monday, Angelina Jolie filed her documents in court citing “irreconcilable differences” and asking the judge on her custody case to give Pitt visitation. Although Jolie didn’t request that Pitt be denied joint legal custody, she doesn’t want him having any physical custody of their kids, Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, and Zahara, 11, all of whom are adopted, and their three biological children, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, eight.

“[Angelina Jolie]’s decision to file has to do with the way Brad was parenting the children… she was extremely upset with his methods,” the outlet explained, adding that Jolie had become “fed up” with Pitt’s consumption of weed and possibly alcohol.

Angelina Jolie also reportedly believes her husband is suffering from “an anger problem” which is dangerous for the children. In fact, on September 22, TMZ shared a separate report, claiming the actor is under investigation for child abuse after allegedly being verbally and physically abusive.

According to the report, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and their kids were on a private flight on Wednesday when Pitt allegedly got wasted and began screaming and getting physical with the children. Then, after they landed, Pitt reportedly continued his rant on the tarmac. Although it is unknown who reported the incident, it is believed to have been someone on the plane or the tarmac who told the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services about the incident.

TMZ confirmed both Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been interviewed by DCFS and the organization plans to talk to the kids as well.

“This incident triggered Angelina Jolie to separate from Brad the next day and file for divorce just days later,” the outlet explained, revealing that the specifics of the abusive have not yet been uncovered.

In response to the report, a source close to Pitt told TMZ, “He takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children. It’s unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light.”

In a statement on Tuesday, Angelina Jolie’s entertainment attorney Robert Offer said his client filed for divorce “for the health of the family.”

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt fell in love on the set of 2005’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith and just one month after Pitt’s then-wife, Jennifer Aniston, filed for divorce, they confirmed their relationship with a joint outing in Kenya with Jolie’s adopted son Maddox, who Pitt adopted as his own years later. Then, on August 23, 2014, Jolie and Pitt tied the knot at their home in France, Chateau Miraval, surrounded by their kids, who all played a part in the ceremony.

Angelina Jolie listed her date of separation from Pitt as September 15 in her court documents.
