Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie Divorce: Why They Rushed Into Marriage

The Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie divorce is rocking Hollywood and fans everywhere. They were married for just two years, but were together eight years before getting married. Now that the big stars famously dubbed “Brangelina” are going their separate ways, it’s conjuring up memories of what brought them together and what made them ultimately decide on marriage.

Pitt and Jolie met on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith in 2003. From there a romance blossomed and they became one of the most celebrated A-list couples in Hollywood. They also became parents to six adopted and biological children — Maddox, 15; Pax, 12; Zahara, 11; Shiloh, 10; and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8.

The Pitt-Jolie children are at the center of their parents’ divorce with bitter custody battles already in motion. Sadly, their dreams of having their mom and dad married will come to an end.

People reports that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie rushed into marriage because they wanted to please their children. The magazine reviews why they got married when it wasn’t a priority to them. Notwithstanding their love for each other, they tied the knot because the kids wanted them to.

Brad said in a 2011 interview that the kids asked about marriage all the time and that it was “meaning more and more to them. So it’s something we’ve got to look at.”

In a 2012 interview with CBS This Morning, the actor said he and Angelina had been “getting a lot of heat from the kids” to get married. So they got engaged in November 2012.

“We’ve had a family, we’ve raised the kids. I’m surprised how much [marriage] meant to me once you had that,” Brad Pitt told People following the engagement.

For her part, Angelina told People magazine in May 2014 that she and Brad weren’t in a rush to get married. They hadn’t made any definite plans and wanted to wait until the timing was right with the kids and their work schedules. It was just three months after revealing that she and Pitt got married at their Chateau Miraval estate located in the south of France.

Radar Online had the first images of the Pitt-Jolie kids since news of their parents’ divorce hit headlines. The kids are photographed with their uncle, James Haven, Angelina’s brother. He’s been watching over the kids and keeping them occupied during the traumatic time. They were all photographed at a park near the family’s $5 million Los Feliz mansion.

Things have been heated in the Pitt-Jolie divorce. Angelina cited irreconcilable differences in the divorce documents and said in her statement that she made the decision for the “health of the family.” Reports soon came out that Jolie claimed Pitt’s alleged habits of smoking weed and heavy drinking resulted in “anger issues.” He purportedly believed in a stricter parenting style and would often “yell” at the kids while his wife had a completely opposite style of parenting. She was said to be more relaxed in her approach to raising their children.

As the Inquisitr reported, Brad is furious with Angelina for bringing their kids into the divorce. Sources told TMZ that Brad pleaded with Angelina to handle the divorce “like adults,” but then she brought up his anger problems as though he poses a risk to their children. A source close to Brad told the celebrity news site that Angelina “just unleashed hell” when describing how contentious the split will be from here on out.

Angelina Jolie wants joint custody of the kids with Brad Pitt, but is requesting full physical custody. The tone for their divorce has been set and it appears the two have a lot to divide between them in terms of time with the kids and multi-million dollar assets.
