Chicago Bears Vs. Dallas Cowboys: Bold Predictions For Week 3 Of 2016 NFL Season

Things are not looking good for the 0-2 Chicago Bears. Not only are they dealing with injuries early on in the 2016 NFL season, but they will have to travel on the road in Week 3 to take on the Dallas Cowboys.

Needless to say, the Bears are on the verge of starting 2016 off with three straight losses. As of right now, Dallas is without a doubt the favorite to come away with the victory on Sunday night. Not only will this team get this contest at home, but it is also coming off of a win.

Brian Hoyer could certainly shock the NFL world by putting up big numbers and knocking off the Cowboys in the process, but that might be wishful thinking. Then again, bold predictions are the name of the game here.

While Dallas is showing plenty of promise at key positions (Dak Prescott at quarterback and Ezekiel Elliott at running back), Chicago is looking like a complete mess once again as it is only averaging 14 points per game, which ranks near the bottom in the NFL in the points-per-game department. This should make for an interesting Sunday night.

Let the bold predictions begin.

Ezekiel Elliott Has His First Star Performance

Ezekiel Elliott received a massive amount of hype over the offseason. Not only was the Ohio State product picked No. 4 overall in the 2016 NFL Draft, but many experts claimed he would be a star in his rookie season.

In fact, ESPN had him down as the sixth-best player in fantasy football entering 2016.

Fast forward to now and Elliott has racked up 134 rushing yards and two touchdowns in two games. Those numbers aren’t horrible by any means, but this is — Elliott is only averaging 3.3 yards per carry. With that in mind, Elliott did have 83 rushing yards and one touchdown in Week 2 against the Washington Redskins, and he also averaged 4.0 yards per carry.

Well, it’s about time for Elliott to prove his worth. What better time to do so than against a Bears team that has seen much better days on both sides of the ball?

Elliott will prove his doubters wrong and his believers right in Week 3 with a 100-yard performance. While we are at it, we might as well add two touchdowns to the mix. Look for the rookie to have the first star performance of his young career.

Brian Hoyer Keeps Bears In The Game With Three Touchdowns

Brian Hoyer might not be the future for the Bears, but he is the present. For all it’s worth, the quarterback racked up 2,606 passing yards and 19 touchdowns last season, but he also threw four interceptions in the Houston Texans’ playoff game in 2015.

Hoyer can make the plays. Although Chicago is not filled with weapons from top to bottom, it does have Alshon Jeffery, a man who Hoyer should target early and often on Sunday. Look for the two to hook up for a couple of touchdowns in Week 3, and also look for Hoyer to keep the Bears in the game with three total touchdowns on the night.

Dak Prescott Leads Dallas On A Game-Winning Drive

Apparently, 2016 is the year of rookie quarterbacks. Dak Prescott just so happens to be a rookie, and he has been filling in nicely for the injured Tony Romo. Believe it or not, he has yet to throw a touchdown pass, but that will all change in Week 3.

After Week 3 is in the books, Prescott will clearly look like the quarterback of the future in Dallas, and he will also have led the Cowboys on a game-winning drive.

The reason why this one is bold is because Prescott is a rookie, and Dallas is expected to win this contest with relative ease. If this prediction ends up becoming a reality, then fans will be in store for quite the fall treat on Sunday.
