‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Spoilers: What To Expect In The Season 13 Premiere

Grey’s Anatomy Season 13 premieres this week, and fans are so excited to see what’s in store for the doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. After the intense Season 12 finale, which was action-packed with drama, viewers can’t help but wonder what’s next for Meredith and her friends.

According to TV Guide, the intense scenes aren’t over. The Grey’s Anatomy Season 13 premiere will pick up basically where Season 12 left off. The main drama will seemingly be Alex’s brutal attack on Andrew DeLuca. Alex misunderstood a situation between DeLuca and his girlfriend, Jo, which ended with Alex taking out all of his frustrations on poor Andrew. Sadly, Andrew will be hanging on to his life by a thread when the medical drama returns on Thursday night.

Meredith will be one of the only people to know what actually happened to DeLuca and that Alex is responsible. It seems that fans will see Meredith cover up for her best friend, although she warns him that the assault could cost him his job and prison time.

Spoilers reveal that the beating of DeLuca will totally divide the hospital’s doctors. Actress Kelly McCreary reveals that once the cat is out of the bag, the doctors will be taking sides.

“The last thing that we saw was Alex beating the crap out of DeLuca. That has some serious repercussions… in the relationship between the doctors in the hospital, having to reckon with the notion that one of their own could have been so violent. There’s a pretty intense fallout from that impulsive behavior from Karev…. It causes some friction among the doctors. There’s definitely sides being taken.”

Meanwhile, Grey’s Anatomy Season 13 is said to focus on the original characters from Season 1. This means that Meredith, Alex, Richard, and Dr. Bailey will get some serious storylines this season. Meanwhile, the report reveals that Meredith and Alex’s relationship will reach a turning point when she decides to sympathize with her best friend.

“You would think that you would take the side of somebody who’s been beaten up, but these doctors have long histories together, and so I think it’s just human nature to want to make sure you have all the information before you take sides,” McCreary said. “But inevitably, if you have a long history with somebody, that informs any new information you get about them.”

The interactions between Meredith and Alex during Season 13 of Grey’s Anatomy will likely have many fans wondering if the two will eventually end up in a romantic relationship. Although Meredith is still getting past losing her husband Derek, Alex is still with Jo, at least for now. Jo has a deep, dark secret she’s never told anyone, and it could end her relationship with Alex for good.

As fans will remember, it was revealed in the Season 12 finale that Jo refused Alex’s marriage proposal because she’s already married. Jo revealed to DeLuca that she was married to a very abusive man and that she ran away from him and changed her name. Sadly, Jo still lives in fear that her abusive estranged husband will come after her and seek revenge for her fleeing him.

Grey’s Anatomy viewers are bound to see Alex find out about Jo’s secret husband, and the man may even be seen in Season 13. Whether Jo’s husband finds her at Grey Sloan Memorial, or if he is seen in flashbacks, domestic violence is sure to be one of the main themes during the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, April and Jackson fans are keeping their fingers crossed that the fan-favorite couple will finally get back together in Season 13. The pair have been separated for two seasons now and welcomed a child together in the Season 12 finale. Perhaps the baby will be the thing that brings them back together for good.

Grey’s Anatomy Season 13 premieres Thursday night at 8 p.m. on ABC.
