Ryan Lochte’s ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Drama: His Girlfriend Is Helping Him Deal

Ryan Lochte joined Dancing With The Stars after returning home from Rio. In Rio, he won several medals, and he had quite the impressive resume. Sadly, his achievements were overshadowed by a lie he told about being robbed at gunpoint in Rio. That story brought him more attention than his accomplishments in Rio, and some protesters were not happy with the way he had portrayed the country. Lochte managed to fly out before his teammates were fined thousands of dollars for lying.

According to a new Instagram post, Ryan Lochte revealed that he’s relying on his girlfriend during this time as people are moving on from the Dancing With The Stars drama that played out during the first week of the show. When Ryan had performed his first dance on the show, protesters stormed the stage. Several of the professional dancers came to his aid, and Derek Hough challenged the protesters, asking them to leave the studio. As for Ryan, he’s just thankful that his mother and his girlfriend have been there to support him through it all.

“She is beautiful inside and out,” Ryan Lochte revealed on Instagram, sharing a picture of the disgraced swimmer with his girlfriend on what looks like a vacation.

Of course, Lochte isn’t on vacation these days as he’s gearing up for the third week of Dancing With The Stars. He hasn’t been killing it on the dance floor with his partner, Cheryl Burke, but it makes sense that he would be a little rattled after the protesters rushed the stage. Plus, some reports revealed that he had been injured as he didn’t have the chance to move out of the way.

The picture with his girlfriend isn’t the first time that Ryan Lochte has given credit to his lady love during his time on Dancing With The Stars. When Ryan was contemplating joining the show this season, he was told that the entire Dancing With The Stars experience was really like joining a large family. And he’s now revealing that after the protesters rushed the stage, he now feels that the contestants and producers have his back.

“I want to thank my family, girlfriend, friends and fans for being so supportive of me after the incident on Dancing With The Stars Monday night. When I was asked to do the show, the one thing that I kept hearing was that it was like joining a big family. After Monday’s incident, I now know what that means. I have gotten so much love from everyone on the show, including my partner Cheryl, my fellow competitors, the producers, the security team and its fans. I appreciate the opportunity to be part of the show, and more than ever, I’m dedicated to my new family and to working hard to do my best,” Ryan Lochte revealed on Twitter after the drama played out last week.

Even though Lochte didn’t score well, he was given a second chance to show the world what he’s got on the dance floor. As the judges keep telling him, they are judging him on his dancing, not on his actions in Rio. And they don’t care about what people think of him as they just want him to perform well and do his best.

What do you think of Ryan Lochte’s sweet message to his girlfriend? Do you think he’s relying on her to get through some of these tough weeks after being the focus of Dancing With The Stars for all the wrong reasons?
