‘Game of Thrones’ Update: Kit Harington’s Dating Life, Also Cast’s Emmy 2016 Prep

Game of Thrones is beloved not only for its on-screen drama, but also for the off-screen intrigue that its actors offer. Not only are fans still loving Kit Harington’s (Jon Snow) dating life, but they also adore the incredible stories that get leaked when the cast attends major events — like this evening’s Emmy Awards.

The real-life couple: Jon Snow and Ygritte.

Kit Harington and co-star Rose Leslie (Ygritte) have been dating for a while, but they are still dearly loved by fans — especially since many lovers die in the show.

“One thing that fans know too well is that the Westeros is not an ideal place for lovers,” HNGN reports. “Notorious for killing even the very important characters, the hit HBO TV series somehow eyes lovers as priorities for the killing spree.”

HNGN continued this observance with a list of intense and sorrowful examples:

“Remember Rob and his new wife during the red wedding? How about Tyrion’s girlfriend who died in his own hands? Young lovers Myrcella and Trystane? Cersei and Jaime’s forbidden love? Lastly, who can ever forget […] Jon and his wilding lover, Ygritte? There is no place for a happy ending in Game of Thrones. This is because the TV series is [not] and should never be considered a love story.”

It’s true. Game of Thrones is not a love story. But so far, Kit’s and Rose’s relationship has been.

“As is often the case in Hollywood the two co-stars fell in love while on set. […] Although both Harington and Leslie are very private when it comes to their personal lives, the two stepped out together for the first time as a couple earlier this year at the 2016 Olivier Awards in London. Not only did they walk the red carpet but they even displayed some PDA which is very rare for these two but was absolutely adorable to see and we can’t wait to see more of it,” Romper says.

The Game of Thrones cast hits up the Emmys.

One reason why the Game of Thrones cast is getting so much attention when it comes to Emmy coverage — besides the fact that they are so loved by fans and are arguably one of the most interesting TV casts out there right now — is because they have received a “massive” 23 award nominations, TV Guide reports.

Not only are fans excited to see Kit Harington and Rose Leslie hit the red carpet in all their real-life couple glory, but fans are eager to hear behind-the-scenes stories about the cast. Also, their interest has been piqued by the story of Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner’s bonding over ink, and they are hoping to catch another look at the tattoos.

After all, The Inquisitr wrote yesterday that the news of the tattoos had raised many questions.

“The fresh ink has already ignited a flurry of fan questions and debates with much of the Game of Thrones fandom wanting to know the significance of the tattoos.”

Hey, it’s Game of Thrones. When don’t things have significance and symbolism — no matter how small?

While this is not necessarily a fair expectation to hold these actors to — perhaps the tattoos have no exciting significance — it’s still a question that has to be asked.

In regards to the pre-Emmy shenanigans, one particular story is circulating the web: that of Kit Harington and Iwan Rheon settling their characters on-screen beef with a game of billiards.

E! says that they snuck into the billiards room for a “friendly game of pool.”

“After nearly 30 minutes of gameplay, the actors—whose onscreen rivalry finally came to an end in Season 6—’hugged each other and walked out.’ Later on, the show’s male actors got together to take a group photo inside the mansion.”

Harington showed up to the event with Leslie, re-enforcing their awesome couple status in fans’ eyes.
