Romney Capitalizes On Biden Gaffe, Starts Selling ‘Honest Joe’ T-Shirts

Mitt Romney got some new fuel ahead of the presidential debate thanks to a Joe Biden gaffe. It’s not clear if Romney will bring up the statement during tonight’s debate but he is already capitalizing on the incident by selling “Honest Joe” t-shirts on his website.

Biden was trying to attack Romney’s tax plan at a campaign stop earlier this week but ended up giving the GOP candidate a new talking point.

Biden said:

“How they can justify — how they can justify raising taxes on the middle class that’s been buried the last four years. How in Lord’s name can they justify raising their taxes with these tax cuts?”

The Romney campaign responded saying that they agree with the vice president, the middle class has been burdened under the Obama presidency.

Paul Ryan said:

“We agree … That means we need to stop digging by electing Mitt Romney the next president of the United States.”

The Romney campaign is doing more than just agreeing with the Vice President, they’re starting to sell T-shirts inspired by the gaffe.

The shirt, which is being sold for a $30 contribution to the campaign, is being sold at MittRomney.com.

The website reads:

“Joe Biden admitted the middle class “has been buried the last four years.” You’re right about that, Joe. We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. Donate $30 now to help Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan defeat Barack Obama and his liberal allies — and receive an “Honest Joe” T-shirt.”

Do you think Mitt Romney will mention the Joe Biden gaffe during tonight’s debate? Maybe that should be another rule for the Presidential debate drinking game.
