‘General Hospital’ Fans Angered And Bewildered As Bryan Craig Is Third Actor To Exit-What Is Going On? [Spoilers]

There seems to be a massive exit happening on General Hospital this week as three actors will no longer be a part of the ABC daytime drama. It has now been confirmed that Teresa Castillo (Sabrina Santiago), Tyler Christopher (Nikolas Cassadine), and Bryan Craig (Morgan Corinthos) are out, or will be soon. This has been a tough week for viewers as all three of these actors are well-loved by fans of the show and they are not happy about this at all. What is going on?

In a shocking turn of events, Sabrina was killed by Paul Hornsby on Wednesday’s episode of General Hospital. It was rumored that she could be the one who would be his next victim, but fans were obviously not ready for this to happen. Many are up in arms that Teresa Castillo’s beloved character was written off the show. While everyone thought that it was her decision to leave, she revealed in an interview with Soap Opera Digest that she was told by the execs a couple months ago that they were killing Sabrina off.

This piece of news has many viewers of General Hospital fuming as she had just come back from having her second child and it looked like things were looking up for her character. The anger over her firing has led to a fan starting a petition for ABC to rehire her back and it has over 2000 signatures already.

Whether that works or not, it sounds like the network will definitely be getting an earful from upset viewers who adored Sabrina.

What may have been even more of a shock to fans was when they also caught wind of Tyler Christopher’s new status on the show as well. Due to failed contract negotiations, he will not be returning to his role as Prince Nikolas Cassadine. He confirmed the news on Twitter and thanked his faithful fans who have supported him for many years. He was expected to return sometime in the next few weeks after a summer break, but that is not happening now. He has been a staple on General Hospital since 1996, so this is a hard pill to swallow for most viewers.

Nikolas is presumed dead right now, so the writers may just end up keeping it that way, or he may get a recast. Actor Nick Stabile had taken Christopher’s place this summer, but fans were expecting the original actor to be returning. There could very well be another petition to get him back, in addition to Teresa Castillo.

As if that wasn’t enough, along came the news the day after that Bryan Craig, who plays Morgan Corinthos, has chosen to walk away from the soap. While the other two were basically let go, Craig made his own choice to quit. It was revealed that he will be gone sometime in November. Soaps In Depth confirmed the news and the General Hospital actor also mentioned it on Twitter as well.

“It’s been an amazing journey, but I feel like the time is right for me to say goodbye to GENERAL HOSPITAL and Morgan Corinthos. This was not an easy decision and I am extremely grateful to ABC, [Executive Producer] Frank Valentini and the entire GH cast and crew for the opportunity and their unyielding support. To the wonderful fans who have embraced and loved Morgan as one of their own, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

This brings many to wonder what the heck is going on over on the only remaining ABC daytime drama these days. They are losing three wonderful actors who will be sorely missed by so many devoted fans. It is one thing for an actor to want to move on, but the other two were shocking and viewers have expressed their sadness and disappointment over the loss of these talented people all over social media.
