Charlie Puth Thinks Selena Gomez’s Career Break Is A Good Idea, Even Though They Don’t Talk Anymore [Report]

Charlie Puth and Selena Gomez may not talk anymore, but when it comes to Gomez’s recent decision to take a break from the spotlight, Puth is completely supportive of his rumored ex-girlfriend.

According to a new report, Charlie Puth, who released “We Don’t Talk Anymore” with Gomez earlier this year, appeared on the ITV talk show Lorraine on September 15, and during the appearance, he spoke out in support of Gomez and her decision to prioritize her mental health.

“I think it’s a good idea to take a break from the spotlight,” Charlie Puth revealed to the show host, according to a report by Hollywood Life. “Like, for me today, I’m not even going to look at social media. Ten years ago, we didn’t look at all that stuff all the time. You start to realize how observant you are.”

Charlie Puth and Selena Gomez were linked to one another in January of this year. However, neither party confirmed the rumors. In fact, Puth actually denied the allegations of a Gomez romance after they were linked. Still, the reports continued, and eventually Gomez’s ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber, was dragged into their alleged relationship.

Prior to Charlie Puth’s rumored romance with Gomez, she was involved in a years-long on-and-off relationship with Bieber. In December of last year, Gomez supported her ex-boyfriend at one of his shows in Los Angeles after engaging in a flirty exchange on Instagram in early March.

Following their Instagram interaction, which was prompted by Bieber sharing an old photo of the two of them with his fans, many believed he and Gomez were on the brink of a reunion. However, just a short time later, Bieber was linked to Kourtney Kardashian and later surfaced with Hailey Baldwin before embarking on a number of other outings with different women.

Despite Bieber being linked to other women both before and after he was linked to Gomez, her alleged relationship with Charlie Puth reportedly got under the skin of the “Let Me Love You” singer and prompted him to reach out in hopes of a reunion. Unfortunately for him, however, Gomez wasn’t into the idea of a reconciliation with Bieber.

“Selena finds it so predictable that Justin’s now coming on so strong because of what he’s heard about [Charlie Puth]. She absolutely loves that he’s so jealous,” an insider told Hollywood Life. “She can’t help but love all the attention. It would be nice to get all the attention if no one was in the picture, though. It’s like she doesn’t know if Justin is really that crazy about her or if it’s just an ego thing.”

According to the report, Bieber was completely up in arms over Gomez’s reported relationship with Charlie Puth and determined to win her back.

“He has been blowing up her phone trying to talk to her about it,” the source explained. “He is threatened that he will lose her to him.”

During another recent interview, Charlie Puth spoke of his reaction to “We Don’t Talk Anymore” reaching the top 10 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

“It’s truly incredible,” Charlie Puth told Billboard magazine on September 14. “These achievements are so motivating to me, however I do not really know how to celebrate them. I don’t go out much, so to celebrate, I started making another song in my room that night with a glass of champagne.”
