Nikki Mudarris: As ‘Love & Hip Hop’ Star Opens Up About Relationship With Safaree Samuels, Her Past Sex Tape Re-Emerges

Nikki Mudarris and new love interest Safaree Samuels are making headlines for their budding romance, but the Love & Hip Hop Hollywood star may have another story overshadowing it — the lingering interest in her sex tape that is now nearly one year old.

Safaree Samuels has been moving in on a relationship Nikki after ending his 12-year relationship with rapper Nicki Minaj. The two told VH1 that their relationship is very real and moving along nicely.

Mudarris has opened up about her new love and addressed the concerns about being compared to the other Nicki who dated Safaree until their October, 2014, breakup, saying that those comparisons don’t make sense. And as IBT reported, the reality star couple denied that there’s anything fake about their new relationship.

“Despite the flak he has been getting about jumping from a Nicki to a Nikki, Samuels said what he feels about Mudarris is real. The rapper added that he is aware that people think their relationship is fake, but he maintains that he is not the type of person to fake his emotions, so everything that people see from him and Mudarris is real.”

The newfound attention for the reality star has also brought attention to Nikki’s racy past. Mudarris has been known for her ability stir up controversy, even among the very drama-friendly Love & Hip Hop Hollywood cast. Last fall, she made headlines for the sex tape that leaked showing Mudarris with ex-boyfriend Mally Mall.

Mudarris fought back almost immediately, with her lawyers sending letters to various blogs and celebrity news sites that hosted the video warning that it must be taken down.

Mudarris also promised to pursue legal action against whoever leaked the tape, and in a long rant posted online, she blamed Mally Mall for recording the video in the first place. For his part, Mally Mall denied leaking the video and claimed that his email and social media has recently been hacked.

In her statement (via VH1), Nikki Mudarris said the sex tape was a violation of her privacy.

“I really wanted to ignore this but since everyone is asking I’ll make this publicly known. This was a total violation of my privacy. I wasn’t aware this would be public and even more shocked that the world was able to see me in an intimate moment, this was someone I was in a relationship. This is beyond embarrassing and hurtful. I would never consent to doing such a thing. But let me warn you, ladies.. Be careful who your sleeping with, he may be your enemy … I can’t even explain the feeling but things will be dealt with. Evil people never prevail. This was someone I once trusted/confide in and it just really opens your eyes to be careful who your with and what you do.”

So as she enters what is already a high-profile relationship with Safaree Samuels, Nikki Mudarris is once again getting attention for her sex tape. Stories of Nikki’s explicit video were trending in the wake of her going public with Safaree, especially among those who knew Safaree as Nicki Minaj’s ex but may not watch Love & Hip Hop or know much about Nikki Mudarris and her own history.

It may not be a surprise, given that Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star Mimi Faust was long in the news for her own sex tape, one filmed with ex Nikko Smith. Faust was at the center of controversy when the tape first leaked and again when she admitted that the tape was filmed on purpose. She even admitted to going along when Nikko tried to sell the video to Vivid Entertainment, Us Weekly reported.
