Andi Dorfman On Josh Murray’s Engagement To Amanda Stanton And Nick Viall Being The Bachelor

While she wasn’t a part of the Bachelor in Paradise Season 3 cast, former Bachelorette star Andi Dorfman’s name was brought up a lot, thanks to the drama between former flames Josh Murray and Nick Viall. Nick, Andi’s runner-up on Season 10 of The Bachelorette after she decided to get engaged to Josh instead, repeatedly brought up the fact that Andi’s memoir contains some very disturbing claims about Josh. Josh, who was wooing Amanda Stanton on the show and is now engaged to her, repeatedly dismissed Andi’s book, claiming that it was completely fictional.

What does Andi think of what happened between the two men on the spin-off and all of the renewed attention that it has brought upon her and her book? She’s not complaining. During an interview with Us Weekly at an event in New York City on Tuesday, Andi admitted that all of the discussion regarding her book and her past with Josh and Nick has given her a huge sales boost.

“They’ve definitely done well, thank you for that. We did well before but we definitely got an extra boost that I’m not going to complain about.”

Andi said that while she didn’t watch the show, she did know that her book was a hot topic of conversation. She seemingly touched upon Josh’s reluctance to talk about it and his anger when others brought it up by pointing out that when people in the Bachelor franchise go back on TV, they have to realize their past will be talked about.

“I did not watch but of course I don’t live under a rock so I know it was brought up. Um, I mean I think look, we all go on reality TV once again, you kind of have to remember your pasts are going to be brought up. We all kind of have to swallow that pill.”

As for Josh’s engagement to Amanda, Andi said “to each their own.”

“I didn’t really hear much about it. I kind of just tried to stay away from it because I’m not involved anymore so I’m like to each their own.”

During Josh’s engagement scene to Amanda on the season finale episode, he seemed to throw in some digs towards Andi by proclaiming that he didn’t know what true love was until he met Amanda.

“I thought I knew what true love was in the past, but I didn’t until I met you. This is true love.”

After Amanda accepted his proposal, Josh declared that he has never loved somebody else so much in his life.

“This is the best woman in the world. Seriously. There is no other. Ever. Ever. I’ve never loved somebody else so much in my life.”

While Andi Dorfman was reluctant to talk much about Josh Murray and his current relationship with Amanda Stanton, she did open up about what she thinks of Nick Viall being the next Bachelor. It seems that when Season 21 of The Bachelor airs, Andi will be watching, for she said that she’s rooting for him. Andi even said that Nick deserved the big spot in the limelight and that he’s a “decent” guy.

“I think if anyone has like earned it and has been perseverance about love on TV, it’s Nick so I’m going to root for him. He’s a decent guy.”

Andi’s kind words about Nick may be surprising to some viewers of the franchise since Andi and Nick didn’t leave filming on the best of terms. On Andi’s live After the Final Rose special, with Josh waiting to come out to celebrate his and Andi’s engagement, Nick asked Andi why she made love to him if she didn’t love him. Nick’s question, which was the first time in the franchise’s history that a contestant admitted to having had sex while filming the show, drew gasps from the audience. Andi immediately told Nick that his question was a “low blow.”

As it turned out, Andi’s engagement to Josh didn’t last for very long. They publicly announced their split about five months after their engagement aired. Andi’s subsequent memoir, It’s Not Okay, calls Josh “a classic emotional abuser.” According to Andi, Josh was controlling, jealous, and would even call her nasty names during arguments, including “whore” and “b**ch.”

On Bachelor in Paradise, Nick cautioned Amanda Stanton about Josh Murray, bringing up what Andi wrote in her book. To both Nick and Amanda, Josh dismissed Andi’s book as a work of fiction and full of lies. He called the book “outrageous” and “ludicrous.” Yet Nick, admitting that what Andi wrote about him mostly happened as she described, pointed out that it can’t just be all lies. Amanda, despite also being warned by Evan Bass and Emily and Haley Ferguson about Josh, chose to stay with Josh.

As the Inquisitr reported, Andi seemingly responded to Josh’s accusation that she wrote lies about him by tweeting that she only speaks two languages: English and the truth.

In contrast, when Nick was announced as the star of The Bachelor Season 21, Andi publicly congratulated Nick.

Nick thanked Andi for her well wishes.

During a later appearance on Good Morning America, Nick revealed that he and Andi actually exchanged some tweets.

“Andi sent me a quick text. It pretty much echoed her tweet. It was very gracious, and I was a bit surprised. It was a very nice text. We went back and forth a little bit. We’ve both got on each other’s nerves over the past, but I think we’re at a good place at this point, and certainly I wish her well.”

Given their friendship and history, perhaps viewers will see Andi Dorfman show up on Nick Viall’s The Bachelor season, if not as a contestant than as a friend sharing some advice on which woman is right for him?
