Cincinnati Bengals Vs. Pittsburgh Steelers: Bold Predictions For Week 2 Of 2016 NFL Season

Week 2 of the 2016 NFL season is almost among us, which means fans can expect another great week of football. While there are plenty of matchups to watch out for in Week 2, the matchup that everyone should have circled is the one between the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Not only are these two considered rivals, but they also battled it out in a playoff game last season. In that duel, the Steelers got the best of the Bengals.

In this year’s version of the rivalry, Pittsburgh should have the edge since it gets this contest at home. Of course, things could be different when these squads meet up for Round 2 (December 18) as the Bengals will have home-field advantage in that game. Both teams will also be ranked in the top 10 in the NFL — well, at least when it comes to ESPN‘s power rankings, that is.

Nonetheless, both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals enter this contest with 1-0 records.

Before an overload of entertainment takes place on Sunday, fans need to make sure to get their bold prediction fix in.

Antonio Brown Continues To Be A Fantasy Savior With Three Touchdowns

There’s a reason why Antonio Brown was the top target in many people’s fantasy football drafts this year — he is really good at football. Brown proved his worth in Week 1 with 126 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Those numbers are good enough to put a smile on any fantasy football owner’s face, but the Steeler will take it to the next level in Week 2 with a three-touchdown performance.

Opposing defenses can focus in on Brown all they want, but that isn’t going to stop him from being a top wide receiver in this game. For the record, Brown was second in the NFL in receiving yards in 2015 with 1,834. The 28-year-old is already well on his way to having another masterful season.

Ben Roethlisberger, Andy Dalton Combine For 800 Passing Yards

Asking for two NFL quarterbacks to combine for 800 passing yards in one game might be asking for too much, but these quarterbacks are capable of doing some serious damage with their arms. Just last week, Ben Roethlisberger threw for 300 passing yards and three touchdowns, while Andy Dalton had himself quite the performance as well with 366 passing yards and a touchdown.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if the defenses took over. After all, Cincinnati only allowed 17.4 points per game in 2015. Pittsburgh wasn’t too far behind as it gave up 19.9 points per contest.

With that said, Roethlisberger has some serious weapons on his side, and the same thing can be said about Dalton. Just in case people needed proof, Cincinnati wide receiver A.J. Green had 180 receiving yards and a touchdown in Week 1. Weapons aside, Roethlisberger and Dalton are capable of some serious damage when it comes to the passing game.

The Bengals Prove To Be Road Warriors Yet Again

Fans can bet that the Bengals want their revenge. Pittsburgh handed Cincinnati a loss in the playoffs last season with a score of 18-16. Not only did the Steelers end the Bengals’ season, but the game was played at home for Cincinnati.

Cincinnati already has one road victory to its name in 2016. It knocked off the New York Jets away from home in Week 1.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are more than capable of not only winning this game but making yet another Super Bowl appearance as well. Meanwhile, Dalton is still in search of his first playoff victory. Look for Dalton and Green to go off in this revenge contest, which will result in the Bengals pulling off the mini-upset on the road.
