A Justin Timberlake And Britney Spears Collaboration Might Be On The Horizon

Don’t look now, but a Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears collaboration might be on the horizon.

Let that sink in for a moment.

For as long as everyone can remember, the former couple had given each other the cold shoulder in just about every opportunity. But after a little more than a decade since their messy breakup, it’s looking like the “Work B**ch” singer may reunite with Timberlake inside the recording studio soon, as reported by Perez Hilton.

It all started when Spears was asked who her dream collaborators would be during a fan Q&A for Most Requested Live with Romeo, in which she mentioned the “Can’t Stop the Feeling” hitmaker in her list.

“Aerosmith seems really good and bright. He’s a genius I think. He’s very rock n’ roll. He sings from his soul,” Britney explained. “Gwen Stefani, I think she’s great.”

And then he nonchalantly mentioned Justin’s name as if doing so is the most normal thing in the world.

“Justin Timberlake is very good,” Spears said.

As expected, the internet just about lost their minds when they got wind of this. And it didn’t take long before someone mentioned it to Justin.

Again, to the surprise of many, Timberlake is more than thrilled about the idea.

“She did? Sure! Absolutely, absolutely,” Timberlake told E! News’ Marc Malkin at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of his Netflix documentary Justin Timberlake + the Tennessee Kids.

“I have a 17-month-old so I don’t get the headline news,” Justin, who now has a son with wife Jessica Biel, explained. “I apologize for not being in the know…I’m accessible, give us a call!”

As reported by Hollywood Life in late August, the “Suit and Tie” singer absolutely approves the idea of working with his old flame again.

“Justin would be totally down with doing a song with Britney sometime in the future. He would want it to be something amazing and not just do it for the nostalgia of it all. Though he is not actively pursuing a duet with her he would welcome the discussion and would be happy if it were to happen,” an insider said.

It comes as no surprise that almost everybody would approve of the idea. After all, whatever differences Justin and Britney may have had are way in the past now. Also, the both of them seem to be living happy lives.

Timberlake and wife Jessica Biel are happily busy raising their adorable son Silas while Spears just staged a stunning comeback with the release of her new album Glory, not to mention her incredible return performance of “Make Me” at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.

In fact, ‘N Sync member Lance Bass said that a collaboration between the former couple would be “everyone’s childhood dream.”

“I would love to see that happen, of course. I think everyone in the world wants to see them together again in any capacity. It’s like everyone’s childhood dream,” he told E! News‘ Sibley Scoles at the MTV Video Music Awards. “I think it would be an incredible collaboration. I would want it to be a dance number, though. I want them to both—kinda like that Michael-Janet [Jackson] type thing, would be incredible.”

Spears and Timberlake were the cream of the crop as far as celebrity couples go back in the 90’s. They were both stars of the Mickey Mouse Club show when they were children.

They started dating in 1999, and in her first ever MTV Music Awards performance Britney went on stage with Justin and the rest of N’Sync, debuting “Baby One More Time” while the boy band performed “Tearin’ Up My Heart.” Spears and Timberlake broke up in 2002, which left Timberlake “heartbroken,” as reported by Telegraph.
