Taylor Swift: Harry Styles, Joe Jonas, And The Other Men Who May Have Inspired Her Songs

The Taylor Swift Harry Styles matchup didn’t work at all. The couple allegedly had an explosive argument after just two months. While they managed to salvage their friendship, there is little chance the two will ever be more than that.

Taylor Swift has not yet found “the one” in her life. So far not many have managed to hold the gorgeous blond pop star’s attention for more than three or four months. It is as if in most cases, Taylor knows within a few months if there is a future in the relationship, and if not, well she moves on, or her beau moves on as the case may be.

With Taylor Swift, Harry Styles didn’t even make his 90 days, at least not consecutively, but maybe someday Miss Swift will find her prince charming. In the meantime, fans get to hear about the guys who didn’t make the cut in her songs. Fans hope someday, though, despite the fact they love her fiery songs, Taylor will find love.

Harry Styles inspired a song from Taylor according to Billboard. Though Swift never admits who her songs are about, it’s a pretty easy guess that Styles was the subject of “Out of the Woods.” It is similarly hypothesized that Miss Swift is the subject of One Direction’s “Perfect,” probably because she is, or at least seems to be, so perfect.

“Looking at it now, last December, we were built to fall apart, then fall back together. Your necklace hanging from my neck. The night we couldn’t quite forget, when we decided, to move the furniture so we could dance. Baby, like we stood a chance. Two paper airplanes flying, flying, flying.”

The Taylor Swift Harry Styles relationship ran December, 2012, through January, 2013, though the couple tried to reconcile they never seemed to be able to move past that first fight. The line about hitting the brakes too soon is believed to be about their snowmobile crash, according to Billboard.

“Remember when you hit the brakes too soon? Twenty stitches in the hospital room.”

While no one can be certain that any specific ex-boyfriend is named in any given song, a lot of people have guessed based on the clues in each song. Sometimes, people she knows guess they are in the song as well. Sometimes this is not a good thing.

Taylor Swift and Joe Jonas broke up over the phone. Swift really resented that, even mentioning it on the Ellen DeGeneres Show according to the Home of Fandom. Though Joe wasn’t the one for Taylor, he is thought to have inspired three songs. “Forever and Always,” “Last Kiss,” and “Better than Revenge,” which is supposedly about Joe’s ex, Camilla Belle.

Camilla Belle did not appreciate the song very much and threw a little shade, or maybe just sage advice back in June. The supposed “actress” in the song “Better Than Revenge” responded to the song, according to Daily Mail.

“No need for revenge. Just sit back & wait. Those who hurt you will eventually screw up themselves & if you’re lucky, God will let you watch,”

Taylor Swift and Joe Jonas had a relationship that lasted from July, 2008, until October of the same year. Yes, that is about three months, and it is alleged that it took Jonas all of a 27-second phone call to break up with her.

The Taylor Swift/Harry Styles relationship only lasted a brief time, but it made a big impression on fans. It might also make things a bit awkward from time to time since Styles is dating Kendall Jenner again. Kendall and Taylor have a lot of mutual friends including Gigi Hadid, who is very close to both.

Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal were an item in 2010, and it is believed Swift wrote “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” about Gyllenhaal. It is also believed she wrote “State of Grace,” “All Too Well,” “Girl at Home,” and “The Moment I Knew” about Gyllenhaal.

John Mayer is thought to have inspired the songs “Dear John” and “I Knew You Were Trouble.” Jordan Alford could have inspired “Picture to Burn.” Brandon Borello inspired the Swift song “Tim McGraw,” a fact Borello is rather proud of. “Back to December” is believed to be some sort of apology to Taylor Lautner.

Until Taylor Swift finds lasting love, fans will be enjoying a lot of sad and angry breakup songs. Hopefully, though, someday Taylor’s music will be limited to blissful love songs since she writes from experiences. Best wishes Taylor!
