‘Fifty Shades Darker’ Full Trailer Released: Sequel Promises To Be Better Than Original
Fifty Shades Darker is set to heat up the big screen when it’s released in February. The very first full trailer for the film has finally been released, and fans are freaking out over the sexy new clips. While it’s unclear whether or not the sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey can beat the original’s box-office total of $571 million, the storyline does look to be much more interesting.
According to Uproxx, Fifty Shades Darker released the first trailer on Tuesday after months of fans eagerly waiting for some new footage. In the trailer, scenes from some of the most important parts of the book are shown. As fans of the book series know, Darker is widely thought to be the favorite among readers.
The book and movie will detail the events that happened right after Fifty Shades of Grey ends. Anastasia Steele is upset after being punished by her dominate boyfriend, Christian Grey, and decides she can’t be his sexual submissive. Anastasia calls off their relationship and leaves Christian, who is heartbroken over losing her.
In Fifty Shades Darker, Christian vows to get Ana back into his life and will do whatever it takes to win her over again. This means that he’ll have to break his usual relationship code and learn to be in a healthy, normal adult relationship. However, there are many obstacles standing in the way.
One of the biggest hurdles that Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele will face in the sequel is Christian’s former lover Elena, who referred to as “Mrs. Robinson” by Ana and is the woman who started Christian down the dark road of S&M. Elena also happens to be much older than Christian and is a close friend to his parents. This storyline will come to a boil when Elena shows up during a mascaraed party thrown at Christian’s parents’ home.
The second main storyline that fans will likely see in Fifty Shades Darker is Ana’s new job. Ana will start her career at a publishing house and will have to deal with a creepy boss, Jack Hyde. Jack will try to push himself on Ana, and it all goes terribly wrong when Christian finds out. The two men are linked in a dramatic way, but fans won’t find out how until the third installment.

Perhaps the most dramatic storyline in Fifty Shades Darker when Christian’s ex-submissive Leila begins to stalk the couple. It’s revealed that Leila’s obsession with Christian and Ana began four months earlier when her husband was killed in a car accident. Leila is considered dangerous and obviously has it out for Ana after seeing her with Christian. The two women finally meet face to face, and Leila reveals that she can’t believe how different Christian is with Ana.
Meanwhile, the new Fifty Shades Darker trailer isn’t the only good news fans got this week. Author E.L. James announced that a brand new Fifty Shades of Grey book is set to be released, and it will be a re-telling of the second novel from Christian’s point of view. James did this previously with the original novel, calling the re-telling Grey. The author revealed the book news on her Facebook page and even gave fans a sneak peek at a couple of pages from the novel.
The new book will likely be released in 2017, a bit before the film hits theaters on February 10. It looks like 2017 is going to be a good year for Fifty Shades of Grey fans.
